Season ticket renewals

Just got a call from the GTAA to tell me that season ticket renewals start in a couple of weeks. Hopefully things will be getting back closer to normal by the fall, although I wonder what measures might still be in place by then if the vaccine is still rolling out or if we get any negative info about the duration of protection it affords.

I wonder if we’ll be at full capacity, with or without masks, back to normal seating, etc. I also wonder how much the markup for the M-B game will be. I expect tix will be a little pricier this year to try to make some extra money, although the performance on the field hasn’t really warranted a price hike recently.

I think it will be Fall 22' or may even 23' before it gets back to what we before thought of as normal .. not because of the virus but because of the overall response to the virus. I would imagine that if they don't offer us our regular seats this year that there will be some angry customers. They need to make a decision or statement on tailgating too before they ask people to renew.

It’ll be interesting to see what info they provide at the renewal, at which point the situation might be quite different from what it’ll be in August.

i was kinda of hoping they would hold off renewal as long as possible.. though i know they need the revenue. but if we renewed in say May/June, might have more clarity. might.

Why wouldn't they let anyone who was vaccinated or recovered from the China virus attend if they choose to? Why have any capacity limits?
because rational thinking does not apply to covid protocols .. .. will we need vaccine proof or antibody proof to enter? i know it sounds outlandish but i mean nothing surprises me anymore.

Do we know if the vaccine prevents you from becoming a carrier for the virus? If not, then that would be a very easy justification for continuing to limit crowd size.

I agree with @Skydog, I think we're looking at 2022 for CFB to be fully back to normal.

Having just read through a bunch of the Pfizer and CDC vaccine info in advance of my mom getting the shot, it seems like there’s a lot of uncertainty (lack of data/lack of time) surrounding the vaccine (effectiveness, duration, herd immunity threshold, etc.), and that the CDC is going to be conservative about rolling back recommendations (which GTAA policy seems to be based on) for masks, distancing, etc.

So there may be valid reasons to still have some measures in place in the fall, and will certainly still be some superstition/paranoia guiding the policy as well.

It will be interesting to see if GTAA adopts a “business as usual” approach in the renewal info (with the option to pivot again over the summer if necessary), or if they take a more conservative approach now in expectation of things not being fully normal in 2021. I’m sure we’ll all be watching “the curve” and vaccine progress with great interest over the spring and summer.

All I know is, if we play UGAg they need to come to BDS or F off. They cancelled their 2020 home game with us.

There a million unknowns, so it's impossible to predict.

For what little it's worth, my current prediction is full capacity with a mask mandate for this Fall, but that's based on nothing but a hunch.

I wonder if those that attended in 2020 will get priority or if we use the same system. GT needs to be prudent on how you treat those who attended.

I enjoyed the games this past year. Beer sales was a nice addition. Had a lot more room to stretch out than normal. Less traffic. Could actually get a table at Cypress Street. Only drawback was the mask Nazis.

Sitting in the first row above the walkway was terrible for that. They continuously walked by and only looked at the first few rows.
it will be ridiculous to have mask mandate in september of 21'. it will be 1.5 years since pandemic started. having said that i bet they will have a mask mandate.

Still on the fence as to what to do next year. Enforcement of the mask mandate as it was done this year will be a deal breaker for me next year.

It must have been enforced very unevenly. I hardly wore my mask in my seat at all and maybe around half the folks around me did. Upper East and not close to the entryways. I did wear it religiously in the walkways.

If they’re going to have the rule, they should enforce it like Nazis. Otherwise, what’s the point?

I was annoyed all year at following the rules while people around me (mostly visitors or a couple of crotchety old men) schemed to avoid getting caught without a mask.
