Enforce it and the friggin spread out seats too. People ignored the layout right in front of the mask nazis. This lead to a constant flow of people past me always less than a foot away.

I so want to see education and extracurricular activities back to normal in the fall of 21. Selfishly, I want to enjoy myself at high school and college sporting events. Even more, I just want it for teens and young adults who are being cheated out of so much. But, any prediction that vaccinations will be so widespread, effective and long lasting that we will see a crowd of 50,000 in BDS seems tenuous. I think holding off on renewals would be very wise. Get in the money from those willing to ante up early, but give people until August 1 to buy season tickets with priority.

If they’re going to have the rule, they should enforce it like Nazis. Otherwise, what’s the point?

I was annoyed all year at following the rules while people around me (mostly visitors or a couple of crotchety old men) schemed to avoid getting caught without a mask.

the times i was there .. wore mine about half the time, mostly would sip a drink. but, row 1 upper deck...there was never anyone near me. i would wear it back and forth, to concessions, etc.

No enforcement. Not going to be there if I have to wear a mask other than getting through the gate and to my seat. Was sitting at least 20 feet from the nearest other fans and the mask Nazi kept coming around. Not doing that next year.
Buy a drink and the cheap popcorn. You're eating.

By the time the season starts everyone will have had access to the vaccine that is interested in taking it. Seems like at that point we should be free to make our own decisions on attendance and mask wearing.

I guess it depends on the effectiveness (and duration of effectiveness) of the vaccine. I wouldn't be surprised if they keep the mask thing going until they (the CDC, etc.) are confident that the virus is under control and isn't going to rebound when the vaccine (hypothetically) starts to wear off. It'll definitely be interesting to watch how things progress over the summer and how the CDC, government, and business react.

I think I might try to upgrade our seats (currently upper east 224). I like the view, but we are in the middle of a section which makes trips for concessions or the bathroom almost impossible except during halftime. We have kept the same seats for 21 years, mostly because we knew all the folks around us, but the group has broken up due to aging and relocation. The 2020 disruption of normalcy might make for a good opportunity to get closer to an aisle.

You should move to section 226, row 2, seat 26.

just heard health expert from Emory on WSB radio. quoting here: "As long as one person has the disease we all have to worry about it. " that's what we are up against.

Heard one virologist say that things may not get back to what we used to consider "normal" for thirty years due to the Wuhan virus's mutation rate. So sit back - it's going to be a wild ride.

BS. Even the Spanish Flu only lasted three years. Hell even the Plague of Justinian only lasted three years.

This will be a bad memory by 2022. I suspect things will be close to normal by the Fall of this year unless China decides to release version II of the Krakken a bit ahead of schedule.

i want to believe this but you are using rationality and logic which does not apply to covid response.

Spanish flu virus (H1N1) has hardly mutated since 1918. Dude said that this thing mutates frequently. Not HIV level mutation rates (for which we may never have a vaccine), but frequently. I'm not a virologist - don't shoot the messenger! I hope you're right.

If that's the case then we absolutely have to go back to normal. It's the flu on steroids, yes. Get your annual shot and live life to the fullest. Holed up and afraid if someone comes closer than six feet is for the birds.

1 or 2% of the population. tops. is what's driving the covid insanity. those screaming get most attention.

Holed up and afraid if some comes closer than six feet . . . and with all that we still have almost 400,000 dead in well less than a year, and from what I just saw more than 4000 dead yesterday - way more than 9/11 and we still have never gone back to "normal" since 9/11.

Dying is for the birds.

Wanting something to be a certain way does not necessarily make it feasible.
