I feel like "if you're worried about it, stay home" is a bit of an oversimplification.

For me, the mental calculus isn't so much "I'm afraid of COVID, so I'd best not go anywhere." It's more like, "What are the details of the situation I'm putting myself into? Is it outside? Will everyone be masked?"

If I could trust that everyone would be masked, I'd be much more likely to attend a football game. If I don't have that level of trust, I'm not as likely to do so. It's a lot like the prisoners' dilemma, if you're familiar.

Feel free to disagree - it's all good. This is just my perspective, and I know this topic makes people passionate. I'm not calling "anti-maskers" or "people who aren't afraid" bad people. Just sharing how my personal mental calculus works (which GT Calculus proved is not always correct). We're all on the same team when it comes to college football, which is what I care about the most.

Last season, I’d say that the majority wore masks most of the time in the seating area (and near 100% in the concourses). Between the distancing and the outdoor setting, it felt reasonably safe, though I was annoyed by the lack of enforcement from the perspective of “if I have to wear this thing, why doesn’t he?”

If we go back closer to full capacity this fall but are still in a mask wearing situation, things might not feel as safe (unless things are going well and looking favorable in terms of vaccinations).

In some ways, there’s more uncertainty about what things will look like this fall than there was last fall, because last year they put the (revised) plan in place in like August and this year we seem to be proceeding like normal in January with not much visibility into what the contingency plans will be if fall 2021 ends up looking like fall 2020.

I kind of enjoyed having 211 to myself
Yes, I actually really enjoyed this past season. Plenty of seating space and I got to experience the games from a different perspective. Even moved down to some pretty high dollar seats in multiple games. Obviously we need to get back to normal soon for the financial health of the GTAA but, from a personal fan experience perspective, a repeat of last season wouldn't been the worst thing to me(assuming I can get the tickets! I think everyone who wanted tickets got them last season, right?)

yep everyone has a right to opinion. but it's pretty clear for me: if there is social distancing and/or required masking i'm out till 2022 or 2023. i'll come back when the world gets a grip on rational behavior again. if it ever does.

and really i think the thing that bothers me much more than the covid protocols is the uncertainty of games being played, late cancellations, etc. and if we are still masking and distancing then i think we will be in same type of atmosphere with player contact tracing like it was in 2020. like the poor guy on here that drove from out of state to attend the only game he could make last year and it was canceled about the time he hit the GA line. no thanks.

Spoke with my new ticket rep this am. Bottom line, as I expected, they are asking us to renew our regular seats (prior to early May). But, they won't have an idea about stadium capacity until June/July/August. At which time, if they decide capacity will be limited, they will ask us to move. Or give us choices of where to move. I asked if that was the case can we get a refund and bow out of 2021 altogether. She could not answer that question.

I'm going to wait till last possible day in May to renew .. like everything else with covid, uncertainty and CYA rule the day.

Are all STHs getting this email or only those who didn't opt out for last season? We are long time STHs but opted out of last season and haven't received any communication about next season.

I called last week and spoke to my ticket rep, they said an email would go this month about the renewal from last year's opt out. It would include the current balance to be applied to this season's tickets. That is how I understood the conversation.

I enjoyed last season and will do it again, even if it is restricted. I do wish GT would have a mask and non-mask side. I have been vaccinated and don’t see the further need for a mask, but I don’t want to fight with the people that do.

So you admit to not following the rules. Why am I not surprised by this coming from Lev?

I agree. If everyone has access to the vaccine by fall I would much prefer not have to wear a mask. If I didn't wear glasses I likely wouldn't care but it is very annoying to have constantly fogging glasses.

So last year, I told GTAA to keep my Tech fund contribution and apply what I paid for 2020 Tix to 2021 Tix.

So I guess I'llI go ahead and buy them this year and hope I can make it down for a game. Maybe the dwag game

Done.

Really easy when rolling over the 2020 season $$$. Same seats in LW0 as 2019 (opted out in 2020).

And much better tickets for the UNCheats game than the 2017 Tenn game. The seats we had for 2017 Tennessee were section 221 (End Zone Corner) "Nothing Included" .... these are 212C (30-40 YL) in Harrah's Club (All Inclusive).

Done. Will see you guys for KSU, maybe UNC, BC, and, of course, Them 'Dawgs.
I will miss paper tickets as all three teams I buy tickets for (UGA, Tech, and GSU).
