First off, my prayers go out to Shane Bowen this morning. I hope the best for him and his family.

I was wondering who is Shane Bowen's backup. Does anyone know?

well...the third strongside backer is true freshman Steven Sylvester.

We may just end up playing most of the game with 2 LB's and 5 DB's....particularly if Reese is anywhere close to 100%.

Shane would have been strong at tracking Moreno....smart....good angles....sure tackler...decent speed. Some things are more important than football though and I just hope he has no life altering ramifications from the injury.

I would think we'll Jefferson, Barnes, Jackson, and Clark all day with Sylvester spelling some.

WOW, this was in my mind (LB) our only glaring weakness (Really the OL was all year, but the Miami game gave me some hope in that area) and this was before Griffin and Bowen going down. Now this is an OBVIOUS weakness..

This really does bear watching Saturday..Richt is already licking his chops with those short passes attacking our LB's...I don't know if it has been too little time to make adjustments but, I would think Cooper Taylor and Mario Edwards playing some at LB would help (In passing downs because on running downs Cooper would be a liabilty because of size) we could afford to use those two at LB or play with 5 DB's if Reese is 100%.

Clark can play lb. I think i read that he had a tremendous game against Miami...for him i guess. He would be good in that slot hes got some major speed. I just worry about him over pursuing. All in all he would be a good fill.

My prayers and thanks go out on a day for giving thanks to a young man who has given his all to play for us. Thanks Shane our thoughts and prayers are with you!

If anyone finds out more about the injury please post.

Pat Clark graduated last year...

Yes, Tony Clark will play some LB. He is fast and can cover WRs over the middle of the field.

Exactly...Clark or Barnes were in the game along with Bowen....Clark/Barnes would drop into coverage and Bowen filled the gaps on running plays...and Bowen did a phenomenal job coming up to make the play at the line of scrimmage.
