Brent Key sucks

This all day. We could have screened them to death for most of the game. Play calling has to adjust to what we can actually do.
I miss having a big FB like Mike Cox on the squad. It would also be nice to be able to QB sneak a 4th and 1. Hell, even Tom Brady does that.

Agreed, have to be able to line up under center in those situations. Seems like we're always in the shotgun then though? Maybe not. Haven't finished my coffee yet.

I know most UCF fans dislike Coach Key....they say he is an awful OC.... I think they were winless with him at OC in Orlando

he was great as an Oline coach at UCF. He also recruited BeBe Thomas. What else you want for recruiting & blocking.

If only we had an athletic 220 lb back who could play starting with his hand on the ground. A guy fast and strong enough that the LB had to respect if you called a FB give a couple of times.

I was talking about when we ran a classic FB and tailback.

Honest question: what does an AHC and run game coordinator title mean? Is he being spread too thin to effectively coach OL? Are we blaming Pnode for issues that are really on Brent's shoulders?

My sense is that those extra titles are fluff to justify a bigger salary than the coordinators. Making a move from Bama to GT for the same position would have been a bad look for him.

It means Brent Key is better than everyone and we should be grateful he’s on our sideline.

We probably need a poll. I don't want Sewak (or Tenuta) back; but I think Sewak has a clear edge on BK. It would be hard to argue we couldn't run block with Sewak, we just couldn't pass protect. With Key we can't run block or pass protect. When we had Sewak and an O-lineman missed an assignment he got an ear full from our OC and the little girls on here got upset the coach yelled at someone. I think it is time we start seeing some butt chewing again.
The OL just needs a hug like Marco Coleman got from CGC when he was pissed & got put in time out by the cheerleaders or Narduzzi got for wearing that anus out.

Marco Coleman only has freshmen and sophomores on the DL. We have two "experienced" transfers on our OL who apparently just aren't what we thought they would be.

That said, our pass blocking seems OK. Our run blocking is horrendous. I know our guys get beaten, but I don't understand a lot of the pulling we are doing right now. We seem to pull and counter towards the vacated places the pulling guard and tackle occupied. Not sure if we think we are fooling anyone with this play or not. Sadly, even if we run the play with the pull, it seems like our tackles are just too slow to make it work anyway.

For that short pass across the middle that has been batted two games in a row, and I know this is sacrilege in our new system, but why are we not cutting the DL on that play? We need hands to go down on the DL. I know we are out to prove we will never do anything again that CPJ did, but cutting lowers a DT's hands.

Hell, maybe I should be coach. I would be open to any and all things that could help us win. We don't HAVE to run a shotgun offense on every single play. "i" formation? I'd do it. Wishbone? Yep. The triple? Yep. I'd never limit my playbook to "we only do this". Just as CPJ was hard headed about using the shotgun/pistol, Collins is hardheaded about going under center. It isn't coach Pat. If Collins demanded it, it would happen.

This is what made Fridgen our greatest OC in GT History. Dammit, he wanted to win. It didn't matter how we got there. Points must be scored and if it took the option game to do it, we did that. If it took throwing the ball all over the field, we did that. And dammit, how can Hamilton have those kind of stats against FSU (when FSU was the best team in CFB) and us lose? Best day ever for a GT QB.

There was a huge holding no call on Pitt for a large gain and Coleman (my eyesight is not the best but really looked like him) went ballistic on the sideline. Threw his headset, etc and he was ripping the ref a new one. Collins went over and gave him a big hug, like for 8-10 sec maybe more. As soon as the hug was over Coleman moved off the sideline and repositioned himself south of the bench over by the cheerleaders for what seemed like about 5 mins. Everybody in my section was wondering why coach calmed him down. I would have taken the 15 yds at that point to make a statement. It was very odd where he went.

You expect Collins to act like he cares? Shame on you. It’s so odd to me that the guy everyone says helped put this staff together (O’Leary) gets accused of being an asshole at times but Collins is all butterflies and bubblegum. Maybe Marco needs to lead the team.

And if we did take a 15 yd penalty for it all you'd see on this board is "ZOMG UNDISCIPLINED STUPID PENALTIES BLAH"
