Slingin Sammy epitomized the game of football. There will never be another like him. Two way player and punter. He was passing the football long before that became the norm and teams were running wing T offenses.

He was THE Redskin and the last living member of the very first football hall of fame.

One article I read said he led the league in passing, punting, and interceptions one season. Truly a marvelously gifted athlete. He was a hero to my dad's generation.
