Big Money for CPJ

guys, it wasnt really a slam on anyone. but, if you are going to question the AD on what he is paying our coach then find out the facts and pay up if you like the coach and want him to stay

thanks for supporting Tech, but i doubt that GSU paintballlicker will ever make a meaningful contribution to Georgia Tech. As far as Kyle, time will tell, but i bet he just goes back to France where "no one has ever heard of Georgia Tech" (even though we have a campus there)

live on, young uns, prove me wrong

Way to be encouraging.

and just why would you expect to know the finances of GTAA?

because it's a public institution and I've invested a lot of money into Tech? They post an annual report at the end of the year anyways.

any of you that think your "athletic fee" is going to football are plain dumb

it is going to volleyball and to swimming and stuff like that that is a net loser in $ value to the AA. football also contributes to those sports. if you think your fee goes to football, then you dont understand that football pays for everything except basketball, which about breaks even

again, i hope all of you contribute and as someone else mentioned not bitch up a storm when seat licenses and ticket prices go up, and STILL come to the games.

the way many whine about trivial expenses, however, i seriously doubt it. i wonder how Georgie gets all their dumb McDonalds workers to pony up thousands???

Probably because they don't have douchenozzle fans talking down to the people who need to be asked to contribute in a few years.

GSU also has GT classes. Kinda like France. Since you don't feel I am worthy to contribute to Tech, I guess I should ask for my $300 back that I spent on bowl tickets. Maybe I deserve the $20 of processing fees back.

Last I checked, you don't have to attend a school to be a fan of the football program. I managed three GT games two years running. I did that while also attending every GSU game.

Do yourself a favor and quit typing. You are a bumbling idiot as you have proven in this thread.

yeah, a guy with GSU in his font will contribute to GT, wha????

my point was who the hell is Kyle telling DRad what to do when he is not invested in it at all?

but ill be a douchenozzle for a day if you promise me not to use me on your pu$$y

All the revenue generated, regardless of whether its from a student athletic fee or a football ticket, goes into the same pot. I don't understand your argument.

first off, athletic fees cover SAC as we called it, you call it the CRC, they have nothing to do with the AA - NOTHING.

Actually, that changed with the TECH FUND - there are additional athletic fees that go to the AA. You don't remember the bitching?

The GTAA is a non-profit institution, and as such, has to submit publicly its IRS Form 990, but I do not believe it is a "public institution." I could be wrong, but do not believe I am.

while i am not surprise that you do not understand, i dont know if i can make it clearer

the only SPORT that pays INTO the pot is FOOTBALL. all the others TAKE OUT. so your athletic fee reduces what football would pay to subsidize the other programs, but in no way GOES TO FOOTBALL. get it now?

GSU, I for one appreciate fans like yourself and your support for GT, I could care less if you went to school at Tech or not. We need to do more to attract all fans who want to support Tech, anyone willing to attend games and to talk up Tech to others is a good guy in my book.

lol

priceless

i dont care if he went to school at Tech or not. i am glad he will go to the bowl and comes to games and supports GT Football, but i dont think he will ever write a $1000 check to the GTAA like many others do -why would he? he has another school to help out. its not really a criticism, just dont act like you have ownership in the program and tell DRAD what to do unless you DO have ownership in the program via $$ invested.

Heart is great, but it dont pay the bills

i actually did a bad job on that explanation. b/c the athletic increases generally only cover the increases for the "non-revenue" sports; so the amount FB contributes remains approximately the same

i actually was part of a group that did a big strategic review and plan for the GTAA and so i do have some info you guys might not

It all boils down to a couple things. People support something that they are in favor of. Right now, GSU football is looking to head in a direction that I do not agree with. From the outside, things are looking up over there. From the inside, they're not.

You need not attempt to make yourself look like some amazing person because you make a contribution to an athletic program. I'm not interested in martyrs. Athletic contributions DO NOT make a fan. Support, a positive public image, and being a good fan towards others is a damn good start.

I'm sure the GTAA could live without whatever your contribution is. Not sure what your personal vendetta is with me, but it's getting a little old. I guess people like you are where other fans get the "Georgia Tech self righteous asshole" view from. I've always considered Tech fans to be overall better people. Why? Because this is NOT a bandwagon group. You, however, seem to think that I as a sidewalk fan owe you something because I don't attend/make a donation to the GTAA.

You're quite wrong. As far as I'm concerned, you can kiss my ass. If you dislike my choice of educational venue so strongly, maybe you can convince Georgia Tech to add a Master's of Accountancy degree program. There are often good reasons for choice of educational venue.

Can we vote survivor style and make GSU an official Tech fan and vote BuzzCzar off the island?

GSU, any fan that chooses to pull for GT over other schools, are some of the best fans to have. You have no prior ties to GT. In spite of a lot of power programs like UGA and UF, you choose to be a fan of GT. I can appreciate that and I welcome it. Don't think that those of us who support with our $ GT athletics do not appreciate fans like you. We very much do.

I just want to say +1. We don't graduate enough folks to reject any sidewalk fans, much less the articulate and dedicated ones.

It doesn't matter what info you have, your argument is retarded. You say that student athletic fees don't count to supporting the football team because technically that money goes into a large pot, of which football doesn't need to draw into because it is a revenue positive sport.

While technically correct, it also misses the point that every sport is under the umbrella of the AA, and if the AA is in the red, it will draw away funds that the football team could have used for upgrades in locker room etc.

Writing a check to the "Football Team" isn't any nobler than writing a check to the AA, which every student does every semester.
