How in the hell did we lose to Fresno State last year?

Did anyone watch their bowlgame with Colorado State? After the first quarter I said to myself that Fresno would destroy Colorado State because this is easily the slowest team I had ever seen. Well, I was wrong. The slowest team I ever witnessed threw jump ball after jump ball and managed to beat Fresno.

The Gailey years just got that much more embaressing.

Our head coach in that game was terrible and his defense was eaten up because he made no adjustments.

GTKyle, that QB had a 39% completion percentage and 2 TD's to his 6 INTs this year for LaTech before... and wait for it... wait for it...... wait for it some more.........

Getting benched.

A concept that Gailey never understood.

The problem was we didn't have a backup that was any better. Gailey never developed a single QB in six years. Pathetic.

Correction. Gailey never recruited a QB in his entire time here. The problem with a pro style offense is you MUST have a pro style QB. Something, we sadly, never had. You can't develop a QB if he doesn't have the tools.

Agreed Barrel. We almost forgot what it was like to witness player development.

Look how many colleges recruit recent great HS QB's that never develop. FSU, UM, Auburn, UT, & the old ball coach at SC. These are just off the top of my head. Heck, even the pro's have QB's that are duds. Developing a drop back QB is easier said than done.

The main problem was that Chan never got the players to care about their performance. At the least bit of resistance, they folded.

FSU lost it after Richt left, and that's the honest truth.

Miami hasn't had a good head coach in a long time.

Jason Campbell did pretty well for Auburn as did Brandon Cox.

Erik Ainge was a decent quarterback that led his team to a good bit of wins (when he had Cutcliffe)

Tech NEVER developed a QB over the entirety of Chan's time as coach.

You know how I try to post babes in the threads to make this forum prettier. Well this thread made me sick thinking about the last 6 years. Therefore, here you go:

Not when you have a once in a lifetime receiver and NFL back. Sorry, but there are a thouand college QB's who were serviceable who weren't great QB's. Hell if anyone here thought Godsey was all world then please raise your hand. That said, he put up huge stats because he had great coaching.

Maybe that list of stellar QB's indicates that you need at least one four star QB on campus.

A thousand reasons.

One interesting one I heard about through a friend at work, is that Tashard went to lead the team prayer before the game, and Tenuta kicked him off the field. Said something to the effect of, "get that christian **** off my field."

That's not an exact quote, just an extrapolation.

The team held their pregame prayer, but over the fence somewhere.

All rumor of course.

Fresno State came in motivated to be in the bowl game. Georgia Tech came in like a team that got drummed (again) by its rival at home.

As a Christian, that makes me very sad.

As a fan... It TICKS ME OFF!!! Those guys did that every game and then all of a sudden, Tenuta and his smug self stops them. They guys were already disappointed about going to Boise again, losing to UGAg, their HC had just been let go, and many knew they weren't going to fit the new HC's offense. That team prayer was probably one of the last things they had that united the team (whether Christian or not) and Tenuta had to take that away. Makes me sick.
