No, they cannot understand that we were kicking their a$$e$ until Josh got hurt. Some of them probably don't even understand that it wasn't just providence that their RB fumbled but the product of a well placed helmet/shoulder by Cooper Taylor that popped it loose.
 
1) It was a *forced* fumble
2) If they can go "If we hadn't fumbled we would've barely won" then we can go "If Nesbitt hadn't been injured we would've crushed them"

Dumb.
 
They are very lucky nesbitt got hurt. We would have destroyed them. But they are really lucky that we didn't go to the ACC championship and play them again, if everything had worked out the way it did. just imagine what we did to Miami, and UGA. Over 800 yards rushing in two games LOL!
 
there were several guys on there that made those same points that we make. it's just a few idiots squawking loudest.

helmet to helmet was a SUBJECTIVE call by (possibly impartial/incompetent) ref there is a difference

although I consider the turnovers to be what we couldof/shouldof and we would have achieved ALL our goals
 
It's not like they didn't get astoundingly lucky in every win they've had over us since 1999.

Oh, wait, yeah it is.

1999 - phantom personal foul to give them a first down on their last drive.

2000 - PI no-call so blatant it even made Sportscenter.

2001 - game delayed due to terrorism.

2002 - interception in the EZ as time expired.

2003 - don't even get me started on 2003.

Not many schools can say they've lost 2 games in three years thanks to a bogus helmet to helmet penalty on a quarterback who has the ball tucked and is running for the sideline on 3rd and long. That may be why GT fans are a little sensative to it.

To say "bogus" is a lie. By the letter of the law, there technically was helmet to helmet contact on the play. Maybe "picky" or "tickey tack", but not "bogus".

Actually, given that the officials handbook specifically stating that a runner turning upfield does NOT warrant the protection of this rule; "bogus" is an appropriate adjective.
 
Yeah...and if they'd called the hold on Morgan in the endzone we'd have gotten a safety and possession and had an even bigger lead...
 
beej you forgot to mention the most ridiculous FSU/GT game ever which was 1992. We are up double digits in the fourth quarter when with a minute left and after scoring a TD to be behind by 4 points, they kick an onside kick, we recover the ball and the refs award FSU the ball. With seconds remaining they toss the winning TD. It was absolutely atrocious officiating.

That is why unlike MOST on this board I have a hard time supporting other ACC schools even when they are playing non-acc schools. My dislike builds and unless they are playing ugag I have no problem when them losing every game.

I believe if we win every game then we will more likely than not be playing in the BCSCG.

Awbawn is the exception and not the rule. When we go undefeated and get screwed I may change my views but until then to hell with all of em.
