Hello everyone,

For those who know a lot more about football than me. Did LSU figure out how to stop the option or were their athletes just that much bigger and stronger than us? They whipped us on both lines.

They didn't stop it so much as they just overpowered it with superior athletes...so pretty much what you said. haha Proof? Look at their recruiting classes the past few years, they regularly pull in 4 & 5 star athletes. A great recruiting year for us would be a below average effort for them.

And they also paid some guy loads of money to help them figure out the Triple Option.

This is what happens when you get whipped on the line of scrimmage. If you noticed, the WR and A-backs could not knock the LSU CB and S to the ground. When you can't block the D, no offense will work.

Couple that with every break you can mention not going GT's way, and this is what you get.

LSU seemed to get a big push from their 6'7", 375 All-American OT when they needed yardage up the middle. Their LOS on O and D was very athletic, and it showed.

So how do we overcome a top 10 football factory that is well coached considering that we won't get as many athletes as the LSUs, USCs, or Oaklahomas?

You recruit players suited to run this offense and you try to sign the best defensive players you can. And then you coach them up to execute that offense to perfection and run your defense with a mean streak.
