Has any school had more fumbled punts than us?

My pet peeve with football coaches on kickoffs comes when they ask the kicker to kick to the sidelines and then get mad when he kicks out of bounds.

LSU had the right strategy on kickoffs tonight - kick it high and hard to the endzone, either have touchbacks or get downfield and make the tackle.

Our four man front on kick returns gave them an idea from scouting, set the ball between two of the four, onside kick, and the two front line return men will be spread out enough you can block them off the ball and recover.

And, their fake punt kick slip screen was well thought out. What we had on our hands tonight was a strong football team that was angry about all the hype for a GT team that had not accomplished what most of their players had accomplished - an SEC and national championship. They felt disrespected, prepared well and worked hard, and sent a painful message to us and the nation. With a QB they would have won 10 games this year. They had a QB for us.

Only thing about this is that our kickoff return and punt return coverage hasn't been that great this season. How many times this season did Scott have to save us from a TD as the last line of defense of a kickoff/punt return? Hell, Scott had one of them tonight against Holiday.

Sure that bad kickoff gave LSU the ball at the 40 yard line but it was our defense that gave up 60 yards and couldn't prevent LSU from our end-zone.
