Add his name as next OC at GT
Key is widely regarded as one of the top assistant coaches in the country. While as an assistant at UCF, Key was selected to be the heir apparent to George O'Leary following his retirement.[2] Following the 2013 season in which UCF won the Fiesta Bowl, Key reportedly declined the head coaching job at UAB to remain with the Knights.[3]

Prior to being hired at Georgia Tech, Key was the Offensive Line Coach at Alabama for 3 seasons. Key was hired at Alabama on February 15, 2016, replacing Mario Cristobal, who remained on staff as tight ends coach.[4]

This is worded as if a done deal. Add a question mark or something, Just about gave me a heart attack.
Ehh

Whoever Collins hires along with Collins (and maybe even Stansbury) get one year to right the ship. It's his call since it will be his job on the line next season.

Whether I like the choice or not, I'll root for them.

His unit hasn’t been good enough to warrant such a move. I’d expect he’d run more of a pro style set versus what we do today. Also, would we need to bring in a QB coach or something if that were the case? Not sure Key is the QB whisperer we need running the offense.

I am not a Brent hater and could talk myself into being optimistic about it. But I wanted us to go a different direction for sure

It’s a bizarre situation we find ourselves in. We have a coach who is one of the most expensive on our staff and we seem constantly be fighting off other schools for his services. But he’s also been in charge of (arguably) the worst position group on the team over the last 3 years both on the field and off (recruiting).

I get that he had the toughest job of any of them starting out in 2018, but at some point I’ve got to think that you should be able to expect a great coach to overcome some hurdles. Certainly in 3 years.

Like I don’t want to lose him. But at the same time how can we justify promoting him based on the last 3 years? Bizarre.
