Not BOB but Pry to VT

For what it's worth, there seem to be some rumors being spread around on Twitter by """""journalists"""""" with little or no reputation or connections for college football intel. Venables to OU is one, this looks like another. Maybe they will both happen, but be wary of people trying to cash in on this year's carousel madness for the sake of clicks or followers or retworts or whatever the öööö.

Also, this has nothing whatsoever to do with this thread but öööö you @jts1207.

Umm. He is a good coach for ncaa ball. No. Its not good news. Way better than u guys are thinking
And he was a reasonably decent HC with the Texans. Turned to öööö when he talked the idiot owner into also making him GM. He’s got a giant ego, always thought he was smarter than the other guy - experienced GM’s in the NFL just outright abused him.

He won't be able to Recruit worth a crap, his personality just isn't a good fit for Recruiting.

What happened when Charlie Weiss claimed he was going to give ND & Kansas, "a decided schematic advantage" due to his genius play-calling?

How did that turn out?

He won't have the same advantage he had at Penn State where they are the School in that State.

Bad hire for VaTech.

Definitely a meteoric rise for him. Monken picked him out of obscurity in 2010 to be his DC at Southern and in 10 years has become a power 5 HC.

I don't think that's terribly meteoric.

Ten years before we hired him, CGC was a LB coach at UCF. Ten years before becoming HC at Oklahoma, Lincoln Riley was a graduate asst at Texas Tech. Ten years before Lane Kiffin was hired as HC of the Raiders he was a graduate asst at Fresno State.

Ten years is actually a pretty long time in professional development terms.
