Former 5 star is in the transfer portal and, from the looks of the crystal ball, he wants to come here. What are the odds that he will play either this season or shortly after?

So far I’ve only seen that little crystal ball and it’s being thought of as a done deal here.. hope he comes along.. Jeff throws wounded ducks

Sims throws a nice short/intermediate ball, he just needs work on situational awareness. Hopefully the new OC will connect wiih him.

Sims could use some work on the long ball. He either floats them short or rockets them long. I think a lot of that is on our OL though. Hard to have good footwork on the run.

Sims doesn’t plant his feet when he should.

Again, I think that is related to the OL play. Unlike most here, I do think the OL played well in stretches. But their breakdowns were erratic, leading to Sims and later Yates getting happy feet.

What I do hope the new OC works on with our QBs is dropping back out of the pocket. We probably had 2 dozen hurries/sacks this year because the right tackle worked his guy deep, but the qb didn’t step up into the pocket. Instead they dropped back into the pressure.

For all you guys that never watch GA HS FB on TV and then follow that up by rarely watching other College Teams, and other Games, meaning it is very unlikely that any you have seen H Bailey play extensive snaps, you might want to know that 2 different Coaching Staffs at Tennessee graded Bailey as the 3rd best QB on the Roster, but you guys talk about him as if he Brady going to Tampa Bay.

Maybe he was overrated in HS, he played with eight 4* guys total on his HS Team, 3 of them were Receivers that made it easy for him.

I'm still trying to figure out why Tennessee's 3rd QB on the depth chart(deemed 3rd by 2 different Staffs) is a "huge get" for us?

Our G-C-G was getting worked most of the season, especially in the last half of the season, there was pressure up the middle, hard to climb the pocket and or step into throws in a few occasions

Two different coaching staffs that aren’t exactly good at playing the right talent. Everyone in Knoxville has hated the last two coaching staffs and the moves they’ve made. Most people in Knoxville wanted Bailey to start.

This is where I turn to an old Quote from your Hero, CPJ:

"If you as a Coach start listening to the Fans in the Stands, it won't be long before you are sitting next to them......."

No matter what the message board Geniuses that follow the Vols think, there's no way that 2 separate Coaching Staffs mis-evaluated Bailey and had him at 3rd on the depth chart, usually the backup has a reason to be mad that he's not playing, but when you are 3rd, that says that the competition wasn't close.

The knock on Bailey was that he held the ball "too long"

I guess he processes information slowly, and was slow making his reads, sound familiar?

That was the same knock that our Fans made against Sims.

Also, those Coaches were trying to protect their high paying Jobs and pay their mortgages, they had no reason to put Bailey at 3rd String if he could help them win, yet you quote Fans as if they have valid opinions

So by that same standard, Collins should keep doing what he’s doing to not be a fan…

I am talking about when the OL formed a pocket and our QBs dropped out of it. There were times when the gcg got destroyed, so no faulting the qbs for that.

Because we only have one QB with any playing time currently. It’s not like we are stacked at the position. We need depth and competition. Thought that situation was fairly obvious. Still have to land him.

I know you're gone and all, but if CPJ had listened to literally anyone, he would have been able to modify his offense enough to keep defenses on their toes and would have focused more on recruiting. This is coming from someone who loves CPJ.
