I hope Tebow goes pro after this game.

I can understand getting annoyed at the constant, and often over the top coverage. But my goodness he's fun to watch. Theres just something different there, I think the best way Ive heard it phrased is that theres a lot of QBs who play football, Tebow on the other hand is a football player that happens to be at QB.

NFL? Who knows, but he's going to be a success in life, thats for sure.

Write it down, mark my words, take it to the bank, whatever expression you want to use: Tebow is going to be a stud NFL QB. 1) He thrives off of people underestimating him (i.e. will Florida do anything after LEak leaves and Tebow takes over? We all saw how that panned out...what was that award he got called? Oh yeah, Heisman.) 2) What is there not to like about him as an athlete? He is incredibly physically gifted, he is a smart football player, he plays with phenomenal heart, and he is a great role model for people to look up to as an NFL star.

I just don't see where all the negativity towards him comes from. He can do it all now, he will continue to do it all again next year as he guides UF to another MNC and another Heisman for himself, and he will go down as arguably the greatest college football player of all time on his way to extending his legacy to the NFL.

Listening to Todd McShay *sp* on Mike and Mike this morning, states he does not think Tebow will go pro. He has a chance to be the greatest college player ever (his words -- but possibly 3 national champs and at least 1 Heisman) if he returns. If he goes pro, Todd is saying he is a 2nd day draft selection -- his delivery is too slow, and his accuracy is not inconsistent.

Not saying there have not been HoF QB from 2nd day, but if I was him, I would come back.

For not having a dog in the fight last night, Tebow pumps me up more than any other football player in college sports watching him play.

I love when he trucks over someone from under center.

You cannot blame Tim Tebow because the media has a man crush and does not know how to shake up their stories. It is not his fault.

He is the real deal off the field though...he is not a fake.

And as far as college QB's go....he may be the best QB leader ever.

I can see Tebow developing into a pretty good H-back or TE type. he can block, is physical, and can run.

plus, he is very smart on the field and has that ability to get everyone to play at their top level. his desire to win is as strong as Joe Hamilton's was - at least.

IMO --in terms of accomplishments, attitude, performance, excitement, likeability, etc...-- Tebow is one of the top five college football players of my era.

I will remember this so that I can bump the thread when we find out if you are right or I am right.

The way Tebow speaks makes him an exact match for the sort of guy that I just can't stand - but I don't mind him at all. I just don't read articles about him or watch specials about him because I don't care that he's developing time travel to stop the holocaust. I love the fact that he can play football and he's not a douche bag.

I think he's going to be a winning QB in the NFL. Winning is about a lot more than having a good arm and perfect mechanics.

I'm fine with Tebow staying and beating Georgia again.

I completely agree. Even if he isn't a Tom Brady, throw-for-173-TDs-a-season type guy...he will win games on his work ethic and heart alone.

Please do...I would be interested to revisit this thread in a couple of years. Only time will tell I guess...

I think Tebow's success in the NFL will have everything to do with where he lands. If he is treated like Alex Smith, and expected to just be put in and start, he will fail. He needs to get with a staff that can develop him, and be put in a situation where he has time to develop. I don't doubt for a second that he will be willing to put the time in to be a better QB, he just needs the proper instruction.

The problem is where will he find that situation? I was going through the teams in the NFL in my mind, and I couldn't really think of any real slam dunks outside of maybe New England, Indy, Seattle, maybe Jacksonville. And all of those places aren't really that ideal for playing time save for Jacksonville, which has no guarantee that they have a staff capable of developing a QB.

I hope you all did not take my saying he is a 2nd day pick as saying he does not have a chance in NFL. As a NFL draft freaknik (shameful, but have been watching NFL drafts/studying them for years), NFL teams do not draft for winning -- they draft for combine, workouts and for QB's--arm strength and mechanics. NFL coaches and GM's think they can teach winning. This is why Missouri's backup QB will go higher in the draft than Chase Daniel.

This is why I agree with Todd that he will be a 2nd day pick, and should stay in school. However, I would be not surprised if he is as successful as other great 2nd day selection QB's.

He need to stay and DESTROY the nadlickers one-more-time! The dawg nation will possibly implode if he totally nukes 'em (like WE are going to DO). As for the NFL--I wish I was his agent!!

He's Jim McMahon with a different off field personality. A team that drafts him has to know what they're getting and how to use him. Assuming that's true, I think he can be a pretty good pro.

Tim Tebow proved last night he got screwed out of the Heisman this year. He is by far the best FOOTBALL PLAYER today, maybe not the best pro type QB, but the best PLAYER in the game today, which the award honors. He will find a way to kick your butt either with his feet or his arm. It's not his fault the media has developed a love fest with him. Y'all need to get off his back.
And if I had to pick one guy who could play all 22 positions on a team in a pinch, it would be him.

Last night proved to me that Colt McCoy got screwed out of the Heisman. McCoy put up better numbers and a better game against OU, on a truly neutral field. Tebow was very good last night in the second half. He was mediocre in the first. His reads were not good. He made some poor throwing decisions that resulted in picks. His defense pulled his ass from the fire. I don't want to take anything away from him, but last night was not the best I've ever seen him play, and it was not a Heisman trophy performance. But, I'm sitting at my house on a Friday night, and he's running around Gainesville as the king of everything, so he's got me beat...

Several points:

1)I am getting tired of the over-the-top lovefest as well.

2)But consider this, non-GT fans probably feel the same way about all the fawning over Calvin Johnson we heard.

3)Either way, it is the media rather than the person that is at fault.

4)Why are people questioning Tebow as NFL QB but teams spent top draft picks on Vince Young and Mike Vick? Tebow is a better passer than either of them and as much of a "winner" as Young or Vick.

5)Like the comparison to McMahon. He will be a winner in the NFL at QB, mark my words. He won't be Marino or Manning however.

6)Mark my words here as well. Bradford will fold when playing behind an OL that is not in a different class of talent than most of the teams he is playing. Will he survive long enough to pay behind a good OL in the NFL?

If Tebow were on our team, we'd love him. He'd be great in our offense. Nothing against JN, of course.

wow, looks like Mel Kiper said EXACTLY what i said. perfect for the Hback position
