Those are our year in, year out goals. Not to shabby hitting two out of the three. And considering that we did tie for our division title, CPJ has done an incredible job this year.

And the best thing is that LSU and classless Les Miles didn't creep back in after all. That was one of the teams I was worried about getting in and pushing us out.

Kinda makes me throw up a little in my mouth to see Ugag finish in Top 10 in USAToday, though....
 
They may finish in the top ten but
1) they finished 2nd in GA
2) they will drop out of the top 15 preseason 09 (well at least they oughtta)

Screw UGA --their top 10 finish is an underachievement.

GT finished 9-4, tied for the Coastal, defeated FSU and UGA, and finished ranked in the polls.

UGAg finishing at #10 is a complete joke. They lost to three teams and only one is ahead of them (corrected below). They are ranked #13 for our game. They lose to us and beat MSU (both below them in the polls) and move up a net 3 spots to#10? Sweet deal!

OTOH, I believe that #22 is too low for GT, too. We are ranked #18 for UGAg. We beat them (a higher ranked team) and lose to LSU and drop a net 4 spots. Hmm. Piss poor showing in bowl games will do that to you though. We have no one to blame but ourselves (and LSU, I suppose, for stinking up their season so we ended up losing to an unranked team).

Correction: I though sure that Alabama would fall out of the top 10 for losing like they did to Utah. How do you get spanked like they did and only drop 2 spots (4 to 6)? Geeze! I am really starting to dislike the SEC. Even when they lose in bowls, it doesn't hurt.

Most of you seem unaware that Georgia wasn't just preseason #1 this year, they were preseason #1 and predicted repeat champions.

2009 is in the can, let's focus on 2010.
 
UGA finished in the top 10, really? Their conference had only three other teams worth a crap during the regular season, and UGA lost big to the two of them they played, as well as us.

I hate the SEC.

Nah, we ended on a sour note no doubt. But 20-25 sounds about right. I don't think there are more than 25 other teams that would be better than 9-4 playing our schedule.

Also, I think the AP did something rational and noticed that despite being unranked LSU was one of the most talented teams in the nation. That and our record and placing before the bowl are why we stayed ranked.
 
I really don't care to be ranked very high going into next season. We seem to do better when we're playing as an underdog.
 
Yeah but we need to get out of that mindset. Else we will have same thing as this year where only team we won while ranked was against a higher ranked UGA.
 
Getting ranked HAD to be on our GOALS LIST, correct?

We NEVER finished a season ranked under Gailey. NEVER.
