Juanyeh Thomas is the first non-specialist Jackets player to be invited to the combine since 2016, when defensive tackle Adam Gotsis and cornerback D.J. White both took part in the combine prior to being drafted. Kicker Harrison Butker (2017) and punter Pressley Harvin (2021) also received invites before being drafted.

He needs to lose a tad of the bulk and gain some speed. I hope he is with the correct trainer. A 4.5 might get him drafted. A 4.3 gets him drafted. A 4.9 gets him trying to maybe make a practice squad.

NFL teams seem to like DB-type players who can also play special teams, so that’s a good thing for Juanyeh. But, as mentioned elsewhere, a good 40 time is probably critical. Still can’t imagine him going any earlier than 6th or 7th round.

Won’t be surprised if 2 or 3 of the DBs make an nfl roster at some point. Huge turnover at the position in the league, and teams always need an additional DB.

Agree with the sentiment about him trimming up a bit. Good luck to Juanyeh.

I agree, which is why I'm so surprised that we were 130 / 130 in Yards / Attempt last season.

When he was a freshman, 4.4 seconds. Last season, 5.0 seconds. That is what has me worried. I hope he is getting lean and picking up the 40 time and shuttle times.
So maybe I wasn't imagining our secondary getting slower.

You got a source? 5 seconds is stupid slow for a FBS DB.

Did you watch us try to run down a TE or FB last season? We couldn't even catch the "slow" offensive skill players if they broke free.
