New President for GT??

Oh, please God no. I'm with TechSBP, I know a couple of people at RPI and they have absolutely nothing good to say about her. It's rumored that she wanted to get rid of RPI's entire undergraduate program. I hate to be political, but my feeling is she wouldn't have gotten so high up as a white male.

Right. Because if there's any industry that has been holding back the white man and participating in undeserved social promotion it's private research.

Just to make sure I'm not guilty by affiliation with those whining about perceived affirmative action, I think she got her position purely on merit alone. I hope we look elsewhere on the basis of what folks who work at RPI have told me. If she gets the job, I will support her at GT so long as she supports GT. And if she is selected, the reason will be her merit, not any other innate characteristics.

Nothing makes me madder than the affirmative action tripe that gets trotted out. I've had someone wrongly claim I was a beneficiary of "affirmative action" and it still ticks me off. That being said, I hope Tech looks elsewhere. I can think of more deserving individuals already on the faculty.
