FM Station for Football / BBall games

It is about damn time. I can barely pick up 790 in the daytime at home. Forget about it at night. I'll actually be able to listen to the coaches shows driving home from work now as well.

This is great for Atlanta and Metro, but still no radio for most of the State. Why can't we have streaming audio on the Internet?? Why D'rad?

Hopefully they'll let 106.7 & 790 stream the game over the internet next year, rather than insisting that us out of town fans subscribe to the Athletic Association feed.

So apparently we are all wrapped up in radio, clothes, and soft drinks for the next 10 to 13 years. All sounds good enough to me, not knowing much about such deals.

So what kind of station and format is WYAY.

We are very lucky in our area to get Tech coverage on WJFL FM 101.9 in Sandersville. If you are in Milledgeville or Dublin you can easily get the Tech games there.

I think they're an "Oldies" station. They won't be talking Tech during the day or anything (not that 790 does that either...).

Not a very good oldies station (is there one?), but a strong signal.

This was a country station for years --the second-most listened to after Kicks 101.5, but the format switched a while back --I listen to it sometimes and it is a very strong signal. like some others, I picked up South 107.1 out of Rome over the past few years for Tech games.

I think DRad is making some really great decisions. Don't forget that the GT AA was in a real ****hole before he got here. We had gone something like 10 years of deficits, and were building up a huge deficit account. The crazier part, however, was that being a non-profit, I believe regulations Required that they couldn't run a deficit, or else they would have to shut down. That would have been a HUGE blow.

Apparently WREK is losing $30K (1/3rd) of their budget because of this. Bummer for that, but this is still a good deal.
