My guess:

B-back subs: I think the coaches hope Watson steps up and takes hold of #2 B-back. If not, I think Allen and Cox will split the majority of the meaningful PT.

A-back subs: Cox will sub for Allen. Peoples and Wright sub for Roddy. I wouldn't be surprised to see Dwyer get some A-back reps, especially if he gets banged up early in the season.

This is all just my humble opinion though.

Fact: If our O-line improves at all...we will be nasty.

WTF!!! Im guessing you listen to the game on the radio instead actually being THERE!!! there is no way in hell that one of those freshman come in and beat Nesbit out. And second of all, it is pretty hard to throw an accurate pass when defenders are in your face and holding on your ankles. the kid was playing ankles that needed to be surgically repaired this offseason.

But back to the subject, Anthony Allen is a beast and will be a monster at A back. i dont see Dwyer at A back because he is not a really good blocker. and Roddy will be good ole Roddy. the best asset that AA will bring to the offense is his ability to stretch the field in the passing game

There will be a lot more subbing this season, we will spread the carries around. Too much depth not to exploit the fresh legs.

Jones, Allen, and Dwyer are the front runners to start. It will have to be earned though, this is the difference in the new regime, they aren't just handing positions out on paper, they gotta win it on the field.

Richard will earn some PT at B Back, he is our future at B Back. Big sets could see Watson, Dwyer, and Allen all out there together.

You can't see this, but I just drooled on my keyboard. I like the idea of those big backs with speed out there. Great for blocking and great for the TO - we can run any of the A-backs in motion, and then run them at any part of the line.

I'm imagining the play where the A-Back comes in motion and then ends up as the blocker in a run between the opposite Guard-Tackle gap. We broke some great runs on those with Roddy leading the way, but imagine running that with one of the big boys to take on a LB.

Have to agree that there has been a lot of negativity towards Nesbitt lately on the forums.

He passed for 62% against VT, while running for his life and without his #1 threat. Does he need to get better in the passing game. Yes, and so does the O-Line. He also played pretty much all year hurt, and not even Peyton Manning could be an effective passer hurt.

Now, on topic. I'm not sure how people can say that Anthony Allen is better than Dwyer, when Dwyer was the ACC player of the year. If he's even close to that talent level, what a backfield we'll have. Does Allen have Dwyer's break away speed, or is he a bit more physical but a tad bit slower? If so, I'd love to see some formations with Dwyer and Roddy at A-back and Allen and B-back. Not only is that a sick running formation, it would be pretty great in the passing game as well.

I really hope that Marcus Wright or Peebles can become the big play home run threat.

I hope so too, but unfortunately they haven't shown us that yet. Home run threats usually have it or they dont. Its not something that you "become". Dwyer and a healthy Nesbitt are the only 2 homerun threats we have right now. And by homerun threat I mean make a positive play/TD out of nothing and/or make people miss in 1 on 1 situations in the open field. Roddy is fast, but not elusive. We'll see about Allen on Sept 5.

*Dwyer 60 yarder and Ugay.
*Half of Nesbitt's runs vs VT should have been losses.

Agree on the first 2 paragraphs.
Watching AA during the spring, he looked every bit as good as Dwyer, whether that translates to Saturday's, we'll see. Think of Jamal Lewis from when he was with Tennesee, and that is the type of runner Allen is. He doesn't have the 5th gear that JD does, but he was running guys over for 40 and 50 yard TD runs this spring.
I think we'll see AA at A and B-back. JD took a lot of punishment this year, and we only had Cox as a legit threat behind him.
Go back and watch the UGA game if you think Wright can't play. He was laying jokers out left and right, and layed some key blocks.

I think having both Allen and Jones out as A-backs will be great for the passing game. Normally we have Jones or Peeples on one side and Cox on the other. If we have to big threat runners on both sides of Dwyer, defenses will look so hard at the run we could get someone uncovered fairly quickly I'd imagine.

Am I reading this correctly to state that Nesbitt had surgery on his ankles? Did I miss something? I don't remember hearing about that at all.

2) Josh played extremely tough....won some games...and progressed this year.

3) Josh does not make all of the right reads yet.

4) Josh's passing accuracy...and mainly the his release from a timing perspective...was not there this year. This is undisputed. Yes...his #1 WR dropped a few....but many were passes released a second too late allowing CB's to catch up and disrupt. Even the LSU boards were complaining after the Peach Bowl that their defense left our WR's wide open and a better passing night could have hurt them.

CPJ knows we need to work on the passing game....the OL knows it...the WR's know it...and Josh knows he has to get better at reads and accuracy. This would not be a surprise to him.

However.....I do not think anyone wished ill will to Josh...everyone loves him and he is a competitor. It is just a matter of whether he keeps improving...or if some of the more natural pass-option QB's push him.

Josh Nesbitt is gonna be one heck of a QB before he walks off the field at GT. I'm just sick that he basically threw away a year of eligibility in his FR year running nothing but that sorry wildcat formation.

I cannot wait to see him this spring with a full year of this O under his belt. Rule of thumb is that the biggest jump is between the first and second years. That's where Lil' Joe clicked on. That's where Shawn Jones clicked on. And that's where Josh will click.

I expect our O to be nigh on unstoppable this fall. If we can only get the DL up and running.

Roddy is fast but not elusive? He is actually more elusive than Dwyer or Nesbitt. Matter of fact, he has the fastest short shuttle time (indicates quick feet) of anyone on the team, and the best in the state of Georgia at the combine out of high school...a 4.02.

You have to remember that where Roddy gets the ball on the pitch outside that the DB's and LB's have good angles on him coming from the middle of the field. When a back gets a quick hit up the middle that are typically fooling people that are flat-footed and break through...many times after breaking a tackle at or just past the line.

Go back and look at Roddy's high school film when he was the single set back and ran between the tackles...he can bob and weave with the best of them.

I have to agree. Roddy took 2 direct hits and kept going on the TD run to ice the UGA game.

Also, Dems is right about the rotations. I'll bet we don't see Dwyer, Allen, and Roddy all in at the same time very often. CPH will keep legs fresh and use guys like Cox and Wright to lay some key blocks as A backs. Also, I expect AA to play some B back to spell JD and also expect to see JD line up at A back to run some sweeps, options, and catch some passes out of the backfield.
