My Guess on the DA situation.

Come on, DA got laid and they stuffed some money in his pocket. We know the SEC methods all too well. If he's lucky he'll leave school with something of an education. But we all know the SEC; they don't graduate, they don't train, if you don't make the NFL you lose in the end.

OGB,
You are right on the money and I agree w/your post 100%.
Time was when a man's word meant something that was more valuable than a written contract.
If a HS recruit makes a committment to a college, he should honor that committment. If he wavers on his word, I'd just as soon we didn't have him at GT no matter how many stars he strung out by his name.
Good post OGB.

Here's my two-cents worth, for what it's worth.

There was a "time" in this country when you gave
somebody your word, you could count on it or as
we use to say, "you can take it to the bank!"

I guess those days are long-gone, with this generation.

Me, I applaud Coach Johnson for holding D.A.
to his committment to us, I think this speaks
volumes about our Head Coach.

I wish the kid well, I hope he enjoys his stay at
Auburn, but me, I think he made a mistake, simply
because he did not keep his word to Georgia Tech.

"Words of Wisdom, from an old-fart!"

He will not have to go off campus to see good looking girls. Thats all I can think of.

The SEC thing is actually a disadvantage for a RB because their defenses are too fast to run against. He will have 0 yards rushing.

You don't have to go off the GT campus to see good looking girls - not like the 60's and 70's. The quantity is nothing like Auburn, but there are attractive girls at GT (smart too).

Do you not think money swapped hands????

I dont think there was any money involved. His brother convinced him to visit Auburn. He either didn't think we would drop his offer or he didnt care at that point. I think there was still a chance he would have signed with us if we would have let him, but good for CPJ for sticking to his guns. After we dropped him, Auburn was his only other interest.

I just say let the thing die. He isn't coming here, and we'll be fine without him. Doubtful that all the information will ever be made public, so we can speculate all we want, but in the end it just doesn't matter. Let him move on, and so can we.

So... did Auburn pull their offer?

Can someone conform this? Another board saying that Chizik pulled DA's offer and now he's just signed LOI with U of Louisville. Stranger things have happened for sure, but makes you wonder WTH is going on "behind the scenes".

I won't believe it until I see it offically reported but this is all very strange. I was really disappointed that we didn't get him, from an athletic standpoint, but this all makes you question the kid's character.....and who's "advising" this kid.

Oh well....he's not coming to Tech and we're still gonna be just fine! Glad signing day is here. I'm tired of all the drama.

GO JACKETS!

It is all very strange.....however, after watching David Sims highlights last night I am far less concerned about the Aycock debacle. Sims is a baller.

I'm thinking what this all means is that his brother is doing his thinking for him. Unfortunate for the kid, but if he lets someone else, even a family member, influence him that much he may be in for a rough ride.

Aycock signed with Auburn as a 3 star RB. However, Louisville did sign Peni Fui'angaihetau. :eek5:
