Permanent ACC foes

Who would be the ideal two or three ACC opponents? I’m operating under the premise that Notre Dame doesn’t count. Mine are:

Clemson
UNC
NC State

Clemson would have to remain, I would think. Other 2? UNC and Duke....
 
It won't be long before Clemson FSU and Miami are no longer ACC opponents. Just my opinion. If Clemson somehow did it's obvious, followed by UNC and Duke
 
Clemson and FSU are good programs only 1 state away with fanbases that travel well and bring in money.

Dook only because it's an old series and I'm a fan of keep tradition.
 
Frankly, I don’t want *any* permanent ACC opponents. I just don’t.

Just some common sense algorythyms so we have decent home games and not an insane road schedule. Its about time the ACC included an “interest” factor in the scheduling program. So Duke would get a zero and Clemson would get a 5 (0-5).

This way, teams should always get a total interest factor of opponents of at least X and not end up with a completely boring schedule.

Why 0 for Duke? We’ve played them for a zillion years. I’d put Duke over Wake, UL, and Cuse. I have only moderate interest in Pitt, BC, NCSt, or VT. The only games I really like are UVa, UNC, Miami, FSU, and Clemson. The only games I really look forward to are FSU and Clemson.

Point taken. I would put Pitt over Duke - not that I like Pitt but exactly because I don't - I care more about beating Pitt than beating Duke - but opinions vary and there is lots of room for debate.

I would have Duke in that same level of interest. Duke because of tradition. VT, BC, Pitt, and NCSt because they are generally decent football teams.
 
Going by ACC opponents that GT has played the most;

Duke (89 games)
Clemson (86)
UNC (56)

FSU and UVA are two other opponents I would consider, but GT should absolutely play Duke and Clemson on an annual basis.

On the flip side, I couldn’t care less if GT ever played Louisville, Syracuse, Pittsburgh or Boston College again.
 
What they will do is come up with matches that make the most sense for most of the schools, but no matter what they try one or two schools will be just screwed. All the pieces just will not fit for every single school.

For unfair but understandable reasons none of you would accept, the ACC will always select GT as the fall guy and if it bleeds into a second school it will be VPI. So I fully expect it to be horrible for us.
