Is it really possible that the team we beat T'giving WE...

And the pup fans think there will be no dropoff from that next year. They'll just "reload".

had the the top QB and RB in this year's draft? If they really had that kind of talent, THE top QB and THE top RB, and couldn't outscore CPJ, then I am even more impressed with the coach.

I like your point, but in 5 years neither one of them will be regarded as having been the best QB and RB of this draft, I'm 98% sure. The hurdler is going to get pounded by big fast guys, and Mr. Priss is going to find that guys who fade under a rush wind up # 2 or 3.

I think this is an instance of the draft gurus once again over valuing the measurables of a player, rather then watching them play. Moreno is a soft player, but you can't see that when looking at the 200 yards he compiled against the Marlon Academy for the Slightly Retarded, or his high jump. He quits in games, but because he has a good shuttle speed, Mel Kiper thinks he's a steal.

Personally, I can't wait for the Bulldog fans to begin trumping up how awesome they are because they had the best draft picks. That means even less then being a preseason #1. They still scare me though, as seven years of misery makes me a bit skeptical of any sustained success, plus schools like that cesspool, the ones with money, seem to have no problems "reloading".

Speaking of Moreno, HOW ON EARTH could MJ's heart be questioned and not Moreno's. He's the one who always pulled himself out. Who everytime he made a 10 yard run would start heading to the sideline. God these "experts" are idiots!

It means a good bit actually. If the OP is correct, then UGA highly underutilized their talent. I always thought Richt was a pretty good coach, but it may be that he's only average when he doesn't have the unfathomable talent he had at FSU.

This is why I'm not enamored with Richt as a coach. With his talent, and the struggles of the SEC the last 10 years, he should have had at least one MNC.

There's a lot more to a team than one RB and one QB. Let's not say Richt is a terrible coach just yet...I hate the guy, but he's a really solid coach. They had an unbelievable amount of injuries last year. It's pretty tough to stay Stafford and Moreno underperformed...you can talk about St. Mary's School for the Blind, but they both had really good games against us, and all our players can see.

And yes, we had a ton of injuries too...not to mention installing a new system...and yet we still beat them...just means CPJ is a better coach than Richt :).

They're both weak/overrated. It'll be interesting to see what, if anything, Stafford can do at Detroit. I can't see Moreno setting the league on fire either. They'll both get their big paydays and fade into small town obscurity most likely. Not too bad for a couple a mutts.

I don't think anyone is saying he's a "terrible" coach. I personally think he's just above average. He's a great recruiter. Take away the incredible talent and his true ability would shine through, just like Curry. If he had to play against Spurrier's Florida, a Peyton Manning-led UT, or a Pat Dye Auburn, or a Stallings' Alabama, even an O'Leary Tech, like Donnan did, I doubt he would have had the success he's had. He is a product of impeccable timing in one sense.

I think both will be very good NFL players. Moreno will excel in a situation where he doesn't have to be an everydown guy, split carries and catch lots of passes as a third down back. 2-back systems seem to be the trend in the NFL now anyway. Stafford will put up big numbers in Detroit, he won't turn them into a playoff team or anything but 3,000 yards and 20 tds wouldn't suprise me, with alot of sacks and picks too, but he will be an improvement over what they have now, or have had for the last 15 years.

C'mon guys. I know their ugag players and we're supposed to hate them, but they will both be fine in the pros. Most of this thread is the equivalent of the "overrated" chants after you beat a higher ranked team.

I honestly think that Stafford is going to get fatter than he already is. He can't handle the rush and will get caught up in the partying lifestyle ala Matt Leinart. He might be decent at first, but he will amount to nothing. No-show will be a good change-of-pace back like Jerious Norwood, but he takes himself out of games too much and won't be able to "outjuke" NFL-caliber defenders. Like I said, both will start out and do well, but eventually will fizzle out after 1-2 years and amount to nothing.

Thanks for pointing that out, NC

I've been trying to figure out if I saw the same players or if folks just hate the Dogs so much they can't let it go. (Which is quite understandable, by the way) From what I saw of Moreno and Stafford, they were every bit as impressive as their draft status.

Back to the original point of the thread, yes! It is all the more amazing that we beat them with two of the best skill players in recent history and at their place. In our first year of the new offense, with both our starting tackles gone, and a lineup loaded with frosh and sophomores. It was one for the history books.

I dont care about Stafford and Moreno...sure it will hurt them..

But they get MUCH stronger up front on BOTH sides of the ball. Their DT's will be healthy (but still dont have a good pass rusher)....and their OL will be much improved from last year, which can off set the loss of Staff and noshow.

Stafford, Moreno, and Massaquoi were outstanding. We beat a very good team in Athens.

As the thread says--YEP we clobbered the storied Nadlicker's and their "fearsome twosome" AND it is PROBABLE we will continue doing so led by CPJ and HIS YELLOW JACKETS--A new era has dawned! I HATE UGAG--that being said I don't hate em as much after they leave the cesspool--so--good luck them in the NFL.
