Anyone here think we'll have a chance at getting this guy? They've been talking about him sporadically on the AJC and have basically said some of his top 10 are Georgia, Florida and Michigan.

With offers from those traditional powerhouses, I doubt he'd take an offer from us seriously... Depends on how we do next season

He's apparently a heavy SEC lean, and his coach is too, supposedly. Like GTland said, UF or UGA.

I totally think he's staying at Texas. Plus, we already have a great coach.

Oh, THAT Mack Brown.

I doubt we have much shot. A-back will probably be the hardest position to recruit and land a top flight prospect.

To grab a top-flight athlete for the backfield, they would pretty much have to be able to play B-back. Brown just doesn't have to the size to play B. I'm okay with it as we already have Charles Perkins. Watching the two run, I prefer Charles over Brown.

Charles Perkins in my opinion is a better all around back. He could play either A or B. Mack Brown is a more exciting back and will probably be graded higher by the services. I think the comparison is kind of like Moreno and Dwyer. Dwyer could play in either system and excell and play all three positions (A-back, B-back, or traditional HB), Moreno is a great back but he could never play the B-back position for us.

But NoShow would be one hell of an A back...

I don't disagree with that. However, i just don't think we are going to be recruiting too many 4* or 5* RB's to be A-back in our offense. We may get one occasionally but it will be a hard sell. An A-back will get probably on average 7-10 touches a game at best and that is not enough to get a top flight RB interested.

Honestly, up until I got to the part about the "top 10" I thought this was actually about the coach. I was prepared to say we were officially scraping the under-side of the barrel for conversation.

We've hit that point already since it looks like Lane Kifen stripping and NFL player missing with a boat are hot topics right now

Truthfully, when would Lane Kiffin stripping not be top tier news. The only thing better would be his wife stripping.

Mack Brown may be a long shot. I hope we convince him he can be the feature back in the offense at B-Back when Dwyer departs.
