If I was the Lions, I'd trade down and get three more picks with that #1. Take a 2nd or 3rd round QB but stock up on players. They need everything.

Pick up Kyle Boller or something and deal with it for a year.

I don't think they can find a customer for that trade, there aren't any players to make other teams desperate for the #1 pick. It sucks that Patriots traded Cassel and the receiving end wasn't Detroit. That's one sign that Detroit is using their pick on Staffy.

You're probably right. But Boller won 55% of his games and stated 60 games or something pretty high. The Lions would be crazy to not pick him up cheaply and draft numbers if they can get a taker for the #1 pick.

Stafford will pick up his uber million deal from some idiot GM and fade into the scenery. I mean, has this kid ever really done anything? Must be a QB poor draft year or behind the scenes politics (mommy & daddy?).

I don't think any team wants the #1 pick anymore. In the old days it was an opportunity to get a player who could help right now. These days it's just someone else to break the bank.
