3 rushers over 600 yards

Nesbitt, Dwyer, Allen, Jones should all definitely rush for 600. Depending on who the other starting A-back is, he could be close to.

Hopefully, Nesbitt won't have over 600, but we'll have 4 others who will.

I'd just prefer he not have to keep the ball that much. He's proven not to be unbreakable. At 4 ypc, 600+ yards would be 150+ carries. I'd much rather we get it done with Dwyer, Allen, Jones, et al.

Gotya! I've said this before, and it is not a slam on Nesbitt but I expect for you guys to be really surprised with how much better production we will see in the future from the QB position.

I'm fine with Nesbitt cracking 600 yards, or even 1000, but I do I hope Nesbitt doesn't have as low as 4 YPC.

If we can ever get this offense all figured out with the athletes we have, it's going to be silly. TV announcers aren't even going to know what to say.

I always loved watching GSU in those days. Just a question for you. What do you think this offense would do if we had Greg Hill running it? I personally think JN can and will get a lot better but Hill was awesome.

that is bad logic. if he goes over 1000, NO WAY he is at 4ypc. the number of rushes will be about the same if not less.

nesbitt should get AT LEAST 600 if healthy. for the regular season that only breaks down to 50 yards a game.

due to our offense he could have that on just his keepers.

you also have to account for the yardage he picks up when a pass play breaks down. his ability to scramble and pick up first downs and additional yardage could be another 20-50 yards a game.

i would think he'd average around 80 a game when healthy. and thats on the low side. a pretty good game and he'd easily be in the low 100's.

heres last years stats. 151 rushing yards vs. VT last year!

You guys tickle me. It is not the goal of an option offense for the QB to keep the ball a lot. In fact, it is the goal of a D to force the QB to keep the ball to wear him down and perhaps put him out of the game. We don't want that. If reads are made well, and blocking assignments are being executed, then one of the backs should get the hand off or pitch most plays. You don't really want your QB carrying the ball more than 8-10x per game. At 4 ypc, that's 30-40 ypg, or about 400-500/year.

Here's how I'd break out the plays ideally:

B-backs 25 (starter 15, reserve 10)
A-backs 18 (starters 6 each, reserves 3 each)
Q-backs 8
Passes 14
Total plays: 65

With this being Nesbitts first returning year I agree that he will get better. It is not fair to compair him to Hill cause Hill came into college running one system and never had to transition like Nesbitt did. I'd say 50+% of what I think of as being slow with Nesbitt is probably his reads and "crispness" of running the offense. Also Hill had one of the best o-lines in the last 20 years for GSU. Another thing I like to keep forgetting is Nesbitt's ankle that was bothering him all last season. I remember him getting run down in the Miami game and thinking that should not happen but it is really not fair of me to say because it is not like Hill never got run down from behind.

Nesbitt will be a good fit for GT until he graduates but I expect to see a Pat White / Armanti Edwards / Jayson Foster type runner soon.

As i've mentioned before, if we finish the season with 100+ passing yards a game then we are on our way to a National Championship. 2010 could be the year (not trying to sound like a UGA fan)
