Scout reporting a commitment

Clearly he hasn't been evaluated yet. That's why I asked.

Anyone have any info on him?

Guys

Anyone we have offered 12 months prior to signing day when we only have 13 spots (currently) is a ball player.

Fred Holton is a strong, physical athlete that is already 6-1 and nearly 200 lbs...runs a 4.55 forty...a big safety from south Georgia that also plays WR. Giff has been eyeing him for years.

We have only given out something like 25 scholarship offers right now.

Also...we are pretty well stocked at DB...so the CB's and S's we have offered are darn good. We hope to hear something from Isiah Johnson (S), Ryan Ayers (CB), and BJ Bostic (CB) soon as well. That would close out our CB class...and leave Lo Wood on the outside as he wants to wait longer to decide. Smelter will likely going MLB draft...and we do not ahve a shot at Ogletree.

Again...any of these kids we have offered this far in advance are the real deal...particularly with a small class.

I am glad both because Holton's measureables look like he'll be the prototypical safety when he's redy to go AND one of the potential knocks was that the recruiting would be tilted toward the offense, so it's good to get one one one side of the ball, then the second on the other. Hopefully #3 or #4 will be another huge DT or maybe a LB with anger issues that he manages by taking out his frustrations on the field.

If we land Johnson, Bostic and Ayers that will be one of the top DB cores in the nation as far as recruiting. Ayers is a BEAST!

We really hope to land DT Denzel McCoy...and we lead amongst his 30+ offers. We also have offers out to other top DT's like Jeff Whitaker and Garrison Smith (likely UGA). AJ Cann has an offer (longshot) and can play DT or DE.

Our only DE offer right now is Anthony Williams. We lead for him and he could be the only DE we take.

At LB...we are pushing for a commitment from Shawn Kitchens. We are also all over Tyrone Cornelius, Telvin Smith, and Jef Luc (longer shot- national recruit).

It really appears this year that we have identified our top targets early on and hope to finish recruiting early with the gain commitment and hold strategy.

Smelter will likely going MLB draft.

Am in Macon, and you are correct on this one--he is a 3-star football player, but 1st round draft pick in baseball, if he continues like he already has progressed.
