Chicago Gets Cutler

At least now I know who Jeff George's NFL soul reincarnated into.
So answer me this. Sure Cutler could have handled the situation with the new coach better, but was he a problem or a whiner before? I don't remember any issues while he was throwing for 4500 yards last season, but if I missed it fill me in. This looks to me more like a jumped up assistant getting his first shot at the head job letting his mouth get in front of his brain. The Broncos better hope he does better than other former Pat assistants who've been given their shot to fail.

My guess is that McDaniels just didn't want Cutler. I mean, this thing was so prolonged and painful that it's tough to imagine it not being deliberate. They ended up with a haul for him.

I think you're right, but I'm also looking at a guy who has 2 years as a grad assistant in college, 1 year as a personnel guy and 7 as an assistant who's now suddenly a HC. I think the Broncos took a huge gamble hiring him to start with and now they've gambled everything on whether he's right or not. I mean, while he was QB coach and OC, Tom Brady was the starter...how much actual coaching was going on? They were okay last year without Brady, but the jury is still out on Cassell. It wouldn't surprise me at all if the Broncos really suck this year. I mean, what other Pats assistant has made it as a HC?

Charlie Weis? Beano Cook said they could win the national title this year.

:)
