I honestly have no idea about the offensive line. I also think either Sylvester and Barnes will fight for that last LB position. I think Anthony Allen will edge Wright out for the AB position opposite Jones.
What you guys think?

Well for one, and I might be wrong on this, but I think Dominique Reese is a safety, and if that were so I'd say Reid will be the starting corner and also if we start in a 4-3-4 defense Cooper Taylor might not be on that list.

On the O line, the injuries we've had to have some upside. Most of them will be back for summer and fall preperation and with so many people getting reps at those positions we will probably be certain that when Jax St comes to town we will have our 5 best on the line.

I cannot decide between wright and allen. Its a very tough choice. If I had to pick I would go with wright.

On OL I don't see any locks to start. Bedford may beat out Voss. I do see Nick Claytor, Cord Howard and Uzzi starting though. Then maybe Nick Mcrae?

I may have gotten the LG and RG mixed up. I think Cord may be supplanted in the lineup by Uzzi during the season, due to injury or other factors. Also, on defense, it seems to me like we are moving to the "Wolf" lineup as our base defense, so I lined things up accordingly.

Also, I think Marcus Wright will beat out Allen for a starting A-Back role, but Allen will be the primary backup for both A- and B- Back. That's probably the only upset I'd pick. I want to give Mario Butler a starting spot at corner, but I like Reid and Tarrant a little more - the coaches might disagree, though.

I could be wrong, but it's my understanding that when we've got a 'wolf' and a 'rover' on the field, we've also got a free safety and only 2 LBs .. the wolf acts as the third LB.

So 'wolf' means we're in sort of a strong nickel.

For what reasons should Marcus Wright start over Anthony Allen. U want the best 11 on the field. AA is another weapon on the field that defenses will have to key on. Marcus would be a great backup but he would not present a problem to opponents.

Agree with the later posts that Allen is a starter at A-Back. No way is this guy kept off the field. I'm also glad that we finally have a solid CB in Tarrant.

Also, what about the true frosh? CPJ wasn't shy about playing them last year. I bet Stephen Hill is starting by mid-season. I think after him, Will Jackson is the most likely to start, since we'll burn his redshirt early for depth. If Lanier loses a little weight, I could see him playing too.

CPJ was most definitely as shy as he could be about playing them last year, but in many cases simply didn't have a choice due to our lack of depth.

I doubt any true freshmen see the field this year.

I agree with idaman54's lineup, except I think TJ cracks first team at DT.

I like Wright from what i saw last year. He seems to have a lot of heart (the little guy recovered the fumble in the ugag game!). However, from everything I've heard this year, Allen is a beast and is likely to start. I haven't seen the first practice so I have no idea. All I know is it is a good problem to have.

The populated stable for backfield should make the spring game interesting since both 1st and 2nd string backfields will be quality.

Wright has been starting over at AA at the scrimmages. He can really block. PJ has said he is having a great spring.

I don't see TJ playing 40-50 plays a game yet unless he lose the weight, which is expected of a 1st stringer.

Stephen Hill and JC Lanier will be the only 2 freshman two see the field.

I guess we'll all find out in due time. I'm just ready for September.. and April 18.

Hey its a good problem to have!

Were stacked at B back.

No doubt, and thanks for keeping us posted on who is starting at the scrimmages. From what I'd been reading, I thought it was the other way around. Regardless of who starts, we are going to have fresh players in there running all over the place. I don't think anybody is excited about playing us.

Marcus started the last one. IMO he is the best blocker by far. Yes we will have a fresh backfield at all times.

Wow, so much depth at rb. I guess Marcus and AA will HAVE to rotate. Marcus for his blocks and AA to tote the loaf. AA is too good to keep off the field though. Hmmmm... such great problems!

I bet Wright and most everybody else redshirts except for injury.

Voss could be supplanted as #1.

Absolutely stellar to have Tarrant back. Should be a great help to Morgan and the others.

Is it sad or hilarious that the 5'7 guy is the best blocker out of the A-backs?

I guess if we have a good year it's hilarious, if we have a bad year it's sad. :laugher:
