Report from Macon Telegraph Blog

Taking a look at the schedule, if we can get past the first block of games, it's a possibility.

If we're undefeated after VT then the only team that "should" stand a chance at beating us is Georgia. Then again that is 7 games and at that point we've painted a bulls eye on our backs the size of Nebraska.

Of course I don't have a crystal ball--but--I have told everyone I know that this could be the year. I don't believe in being "shy"--NC or BUST--I really feel good about this team!!

If we were to do it this year then I would think that next year would be a lock.

Team looks good on paper if not the field and we certainly have the coach for it so why the heck not?

Take No Prisoners.

Yeah, but it's never the teams that "should" stand a chance that cause the problems. Just ask USC or Penn State.

You know who else painted a bull's eye on their backs that was the size of Nebraska? Nebraska - and they won two nat'l titles in a row.

National Championship?!

Oh my.

Look at the schedule? How about we just look at the defense?

Better find an O-Line first.

Ya got one starter from the beginning of last year, and 2 from the end. I know Dan will be back, but without a spring of work. Same for Nick, but his surgery was very bad, and he will not be in shape for ball come Sept 5. Cord broke his hand, but can return this fall.

We have the skill positions filled. Better find a line!!!

The number one requirement for a NC: consistency.
The number two requirement for a NC: some lucky bounces.
And it doesn't hurt to fly under the radar for the first few weeks.

I'd rather not think about it until November.

I agree with your last sentence, and I know what you mean for us to fly under the radar, but who was the last NC to fly under the radar? Us? BYU?

Better keep Josh healthy...period. With an improved OL, surprising DL, and improved LBs, we are still toast without #9.

It might have been Bama last year if they had beaten FL in the SEC Championship game

before that, maybe LSU since they had lost and were under the radar for a while before getting back into it after the SEC Championship game

Michigan was ranked 14 at the start of the 1997 season, and ended the previous one ranked #20, when they went on to win it.

is #14 "under the radar"? you gotta pretty much go undefeated, so you have to win from the get go

I suppose the closest I think we should desire to be under the radar is to not be a team people will think are going to win the National Champ at the beginning of the year.
