Dwyer - Gone
Burnett - Maybe
Morgan - Unlikely
Bebe - Unlikely

I think Dwyer and Burnett. I thought Morgan had one more year (beyond this year) to wait. Either way, I think an extra year of college would help his draft potential.

Bebe should stay until he gets his degree, just in case the NFL doesn't pan out. He doesn't have a sure fire NFL body (aka Calvin). I'm suprised he hasn't asked to get more special teams play. I think that is his easiest entry point into the NFL.

I agree that Burnett is the mostly likely, but I don't think he or Dwyer are going to be sure-thing first rounders.

I saw 40% chance we see both of them again in 2010, 65% chance we see at least one of them.

How did you calculate those percentages? Normal distribution approximation for the binomial?

What?!? Seriously? JD will be the first back taken in next years draft. You obviously have no pro football knowledge

You really think that? What makes you think that? Not saying I agree or disagree, just wondering.

Part of it is that damn near every big name running back in DI football went to the NFL last year. The only other running back left that comes to mind is Cal's Javid Best. CJ Spiller has a lot of hype but hasn't really shown it yet.

Question: With the depth we have this year, does Dwyer put up the numbers he put up last year?

As much as I love seeing JD in a Tech uniform, I'd be happy to see him enter the draft after this year. We have good depth at B-back for 2010, and I also think he will be the first back selected in the NFL draft. That will give Tech some publicity that will help with recruiting. If he has a really good year, he'll be a Heisman candidate, and won't have anything else to prove at the college level.

Measurables. Most outside of GA think JD is a product of the system. JD would start on any team in the nation. He's got everything you look for in a quality NFL back. Physical skills. Built like a hoss. Intelligent. Has break away speed. Can take it up the gut or to the outside. Great vision. Remember... in 2008 he was a true sophomore.

Only my opinion, but I see Burnett as the #3 safety, but still a top-20 pick. He is probably the most likely to go, but if he waited a year could move into top 10.

Dwyer may very well be the top back, but you just never know where running backs will get picked. I think as scouts watch him play they will be more impressed.

D. Morgan will have to show he can do something against a double team this year to get real consideration.

As for BeBe, many have him as one of the top receivers. But, I think he will have to show he has better hands.

After our national championship season there won't be much more for the men to do, so they all bolt:

Dwyer, 1st Round
Burnett, 1st Round
Morgan, 2nd Round
Thomas, 4th Round

Well, I wasn't actually aware you could tell the future.

My definition of sure-fire first rounder is - will be picked in the first round regardless of what 09 season looks like. There aren't many sure-fire first rounders going into the 2010 draft at this point. Bradford is the only one that springs to mind.

God forbid, but JD could still get hurt, have a crappy season, etc. which would hurt his draft status.
