fumble fest

Dwyer played very little. Had a great run but did have a fumble. Bebe has got better at blocking.

So, not much Dwyer or Bebe, and no Nesbitt at all. Nesbitt does tend to have less fumbles than Shaw though, no?

dwyer didnt look like himself. looks like hes got a little extra weight and doesnt have that get up and go like usual

Washington outplayed Shaw, I bet he'll pass him on the depth chart before September.

O-Line looked really bad. Scott Blair needs to find a new direction in life, football just isn't working out.

I believe there is a walk on that will be taking over.

Wasn't it Blair that saved the FSU game, though?

Don't let one game fool you. Jaybo is much better than Tevin and it is not even close. I watched Jaybo the last couple of weeks and today was definitely his worst day. I was really surprised he did as bad as he did today. He rarely fumbled in practice scrimmages. The Oline did a much better job pass protecting today but really had trouble during run plays.

Overall, I was pleased by today's performance. I think the OL will improve once we get some of our injured starters back, especially Clayor.

The unit that surprised me the most today was at LB. Sed looks really good, as does Brad Jefferson. This defense isn't the most talented we've had, but they've got a GREAT ATTITUDE and a great tenacity. After Sed caused that first fumble, you could feel the energy from the defense.

Offense looked good as well. Our reverses will literally kill defenses that bite too hard. Passing looked good, too.

It was a good, not great scrimmage. I'm really happy with the direction this team is moving. We certainly looked a hell of a lot better than last april!

From all the AJC and Macon articles that I've read to try to scrounge up every bit of GT news, in my mind, Jaybo has been the player that has been most associated with the word "fumble". He's apparently had plenty of fumbles in the last two Saturday scrimmages. We need a consistent backup QB, I am very disappointed to hear that Jaybo is still inconsistent in regard to ball protection.

Also, let's not undermine Tevin's improvement over the course of his redshirt year and spring practice especially if he's looking better than Jaybo out there today. It sounds like he's working hard to compete. Good for him.

Some guys are just "gamers"--it's possible Tevin is a gamer. I played football with a WR couldn't catch a cold in practice, but never dropped a pass in a game.

So how many fumbles did we have total today?

Please tell me it was less than 14, think that was the count from last year's T-day game. That way at least I can think we've made improvements. ;)

Lastly, definitely appreciate the updates Eric. Wish I could be there.

Color me completely unimpressed with Jaybo Shaw, yet again.

Other than the turnovers we looked great. Probably 2 of the turnovers total were good plays on D, the rest were boneheaded moves by the offense.

All that said, we're light years ahead of where we were last spring, that's for sure.

Blair is not the best there is at his position but he has won us some games and I believe he will again. Let's not get so down on him after all he is one of ours and is doing the best he can in a very diffcult situation.

Yeah, I think he was the one who blocked for the fumble at the end of the FSU game.
