WTF would you know about Whiskey. Obviously not enough since you only give three choices.
 
Will have to go with Maker's Mark on this one. It is a straight Kentucky bourbon whiskey, then Forty Creek Double Barrel Reserve, then I'll have to say the Canadian blended whiskey Wiser's.

You can get it only in Tennessee - it is by far the best that there is. Period.

Of your choices, I'll take Jack, I guess. It is actually pretty good for such a staple brand.

Makers is good. Of those you could find at almost any liquor store, Bakers and Bookers are 'supposed' to be the best and are priced that way - but of the ones you could find almost anywhere, I'd take Knob Creek. That Bullet in the old fashioned bottle is pretty good also.

Makers is what I have in the big bottle at all my tailgates if that means anything.
 
since drinkclearwiskey brought up the Canadian whiskeys - I like VO Gold better than Crown, although I pretty much never drink Canadian whiskey anymore.

VO is better by itself or with tonic, club, or water. Crown mixes better w colas - if you must...

When we don't have football, we have the whiskey to get us through to it. So we may as well talk about it, because if you are drinking it, you may as well be doing it right.

GTfowl, good selections there. I like the Canadian Forty Creek better than Crown myself. It's a bit better on the price as well. Try it sometimes if you get the chance. It has a good toasted finish.
 
Those aren't "types" of whisky, they are brands of whisky.

My vote for type would be Kentucky Sour Mash, which is increasingly hard to find.
 
Is this poll a joke? How old are you Damarious? Jesus Christ! Anyways, even though I rarely drink it anymore, I'd have to go with Wild Turkey. WT 101 on the rocks with a splash of coke will put some hair on your balls.
 
How can it be argued that whiskey is not a related topic to college football. It is a part of our fight song, a staple of southern football and as natural at a Tech game as hating UGA.

I prefer Gentleman Jack, but had to vote for Jack Daniel's of those three options.

I will second the notion of Wiser's Canadian Whiskey...that is tasty stuff.

I also like Russel's Reserve and Knob Creek as bourbons go, though I did have the pleasure of enjoying Jim Beam straight out of the barrel...it was miles better than what comes in the white labeled bottle from Green's.

Is it 5 o'clock yet?
 
If you drink WT - please show up at my tailgate first game of the season and I will give you the 1.75 litre handle that somebody left a tailgate last year.

I have these two guys that show up every game. They brink a big bottle of Beam or Turkey as their part of the tailgate.

Then they put it under the table and drink the Makers or Van Winkle or Knob Creek I already have on the table. I gave away most of the Beam, but I'm slam full of Wild Turkey that I wil never drink if you want it!

I would get mad - but that's what friends are for. At least they bring something right?

And yes - this is a football related topic.

It has to do with expectations and preparation.

PS - Damarius - I just realized this si your poll. What are you 16?

Please don't get in a hurry to drink.

But since you seem anxious - I'll give you a few rules to live by: and I say this as someone who cares:

1. When you get a buzz - start sipping or stop altogether until it starts to go away (not until it goes away) - then start drinking again.

2. Repeat.

3. Repeat.

A buzz does not get better. It gets worse. If you have a buzz - It's great - enjoy it. If you want to do even better than a buzz - - drink some more - and people call that "not knowing how to hold your liquor"

and then you can drink even more. This step is called, "projectile vommit" or "going home alone"

People call this step, "career limiting" or 'he'll never sleep with any of that girl now' or something like that.

A buzz is what you get and that's as good as it gets. It does not get better. It gets worse.

Achieve and Maintain. The next two steps just make you look like a guy who does not know how to drink.

Part two. And this is the most important part.

If you aren't scared of alcohol you shouldn't drink.

It can be a ton of fun - but if you aren't scared of it, it can get not very fun for anyone.

Seriously.

Damarius - I'm a drinker - but I beg you to actually remember this part.
 
techfowl, I'll take Wild Turkey 101 over any of the other off the shelf brand name whiskeys, including Makers Mark. I think it tastes a helluva lot better than all of them with Jack Daniels being close second. That said, the WT 80 proof regular cheap stuff is God awful to drink and gives Turkey a bad name.

They also make some reserve bottles of whiskey that are nice, and I also like that Wild Turkey Honey which is damn tasty on ice. That stuff is good at night time around the fire on a good hunting trip.

If I'm going with premium whiskey, I'll drink that aged Gentlemen Jack.

I hate all those Canadian Whiskeys. Crown was nice when i was trying to go drink for drink and get laid in college.
 
Makers Mark and Jack are my favorites but i also like southern comfort.

Techfowl, I will take that WT off your hands. I try not to drink it since I've graduated college. It gets me into trouble with the girlfriend and occasionally the police. At halftime during the Jacksonville St. game in 2007 I ended up in the turner broadcasting building satellite dish area. Dont ask me how I got there with all the fencing but lets just say they were not very happy about this.
