Roddy broke his wrist!?

I'm not worried about Jax ST. We need everybody ready for Clemson though. I don't want to have to risk getting Allen or Wright hurt in mop up duty against Jax ST.

I'm still a student on campus and I have friends who know Roddy quite well. This is what I was told. Hopefully, he will be back before the first game.

Damn it. This is why we need more girls at Tech... if we had as many girls as UGAy, Roddy wouldn't have gotten a damn wrist injury.

:(

Its true. He should be fine. 8-10 weeks it looks like. We have plenty of depth at running back, he knows the offense and will stay in shape. He can come back with no problems. Its beautiful actually having some depth though.;)

Its a wrist injury. That isn't the end of the world. He can still run and do non-contact drills. He will stay in shape and probably have more powerful legs than he normally would come the end of summer.

We are Stingtalk.

The seedy underbelly of the GT sports internet.

Nobody sues Stingtalk.

..we've got Lawbee and Buzzlaw to take care of any potential lawsuits anyway.

..and I'm sure that among us there is enough ca$h, guns and liquor to make any potential problems 'go away.'

I'm sure that he'll still pratice. He'll probably be in a partial cast come fall practice.

Did we finally decide on Jemea Thomas as an AB? Though, I would assume/hope that he will be redshirted.

With a broken wrist he can do just about anything except heavy weight lifting. They will be able to completely immobilize the wrist so he can practice.
The biggest thing will be the atrophy that sets in...so when he does return it will take a couple weeks to be comfortable catching or carrying the ball with that hand.

Roddy was the only sure starter AB. It was the other AB slot that was open...but really going to Anthony Allen.

Yes we have depth...but you never lose a starter and not have a drop off. There is a reason that one person is a starter. Roddy had 723 yds rushing for 8.5 ypc last year...hard to beat that..and blocked wonderfully. Throw in 8 receptions for 155 yards (second on the team in receptions).

Let hope to fast and successful healing for a top notch student-athlete like Roddy.

Bingo. I shattered my wrist 7 years ago and have never gotten my range of motion back. Being young helps (more collagen) and I'm sure he will have a very solid rehab program.

The physical therapy after the cast came off was nightmarish. I hope his goes better.

While this is just guessing from the name "broken wrist" (which can happen in a few ways of varying seriousness). He'll be out 2 months from my previous experience.

Anyone actually know when summer practice begins? Cause he'll be fine by August and that's a month to get back into shape.

Edit:

That's what I mean, we don't know what kind of wrist injury it was. My guess is that weightlifting...probably over extension causing a fraction in the wrist, had the same thing happen to me when I landed on my hand wrong.

I played my entire senior year of highschool football with a broken wrist. He should be ok, this is an easy recovery. On the plus side it will give some less experienced talented players some more reps and game time experience. That builds depth.

Football camp starts on Aug 3... but this is true Roddy camp broke his while lifting weights

Is it too much to ask which wrist it is? dominant or weakside?

The "not so" subtle strength of Stingtalk!

Was thinking the same thing. Either way between the S&T staff and the rehab program will get him in good shape by the time clempson comes to town, but I'd guess its a lot easier to get back in rhythm when its not your dominant hand.
