Anthony Williams says he's close GT in the lead....

People Wolf is a linebacker position. Cooper Taylor will be a nickel back better known as the Husky. They are the same.... But anyway im pretty sure we will take a LB but dont be surprise if we dont because there is a possibility that Daniel Drummond may move to LB.

Daniel's dad says that the coaches have given no indication that DD will move to LB. He said that as far as what the coaches have told him and Daniel, that his son will be playing BB.

I think this situation really underscores the importance of relationships formed between prospects and how it impacts their decision. The whole thing is eerily similar to fraternity rush in that the "rushees" are choosing a "fraternity" based, in part, on the group of "pledge brothers" with whom they'll spend the next 4 to 5 years.

Its not the overriding factor, but mucho importante none the less.

Nope. Bad analogy.

He may get left out no matter where he wants to attend if someone beats him to the spot.

What's kind of FU is his parents wanting him to visit the big factory schools and talking him down off a commitment to GT. WTF??

In all fairness, the article didn't say he was about to pick GT, just that he almost picked someone. The fact that the last place he visited was us might be the lead on or not.

On O, we've got a couple O line, a RB, and Bostic as an Athlete who plays QB in high school. We clearly need to take at least one WR, and at least one more RB/FB, which only leaves one more open slot on O.

We are definitely not taking a WR this year.

Cooper was playing Wolf this spring, I believe. I was under the impression that Husky was the same position, they just changed the name this year. Are you saying that Husky is simply the Nickel Back position?

Can y'all imagine if we had room for a full pledge class this year? We've already got as much talent as last year with our 9 commits.

I don't know about all that. I think we've probably only got 2 guys that are of the Lanier / Luallan level so far, and we probably got 5 or 6 of those caliber guys last year.

Yes they are the same position. Only reason it was a point of emphasis this spring was due to the fact that 9 out of the 12 team we play are spread teams.

... And Daniel Drummond may have been told that he is going to play B-back but all I'm saying the kid is built like a manchild and is very strong so don't be surprised if that dream as a B-back becomes an admiration and he find himself as a Wolf Lb

I think the best sign for this recruiting class is how early it is developing. If you take out info you get from recruiting services, and just base your opinion on when the offer was given, this class looks pretty strong. Coaches give offers to their first choices first and move down the list as they get a feel for where they stand w/ prospects. The fact that we have 8 commitments (out of a supposed 12) in June speaks volumes for where these guys stand in the eyes of the GT staff--which is good enough for me.
