FSU fans discussing GT as a rival

Sadly, we already have Clemson to play from the Atlantic every year. I would LOVE to have FSU grow into a bigger game and eventually a rivalry. I'd rather have FSU in our division then Miami. I've always been one to think that the divisions need to be realigned but that won't happen with the current comish of the ACC

You're simply mistaken if you believe the FSU game is not rival caliber. 12 years of pure heartache and misery followed by 4 years of soaking in it made damn sure of that.
 
I hung around some FSU fans last weekend who absolutely hated Tech. They hated us to the point of wanting us to lose every game we play lol. I was kinda surprised.
 
It's funny how different FSU fans and UGAg fans act. We lost a longer series against them and they still think we're a threat. Ugag fans just pass it off as a fluke.

Despite the fact we lost, those were some great games back then. FSU knew they needed to play their A game whenever we came to town.
 
Easily solved: GT to the Atlantic, Maryland to the Coastal. We continue to play Clemson every year, plus get a yearly date with FSU. Maryland benefits because geographically they are closer to Virginia and Virginia Tech and play them every year. Makes too much sense, therefore it will never happen.

North Division. South Division. Miami plays in the north, because their fans are all Yankees and Cubans anyway. Problem solved.
 
For Georgia Tech and Florida State to only play twice every five years is ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous.

End of story.

I was thinking the same thing. Most seemed to acknowledge that we gave them tough games through the 90s, even if we lost them all. UGA fans act as if 51-7 applies to every game in which they beat us. Then again, this might actually go against the point of us being rivals with F$U. True rivals usually aren't quite so complimentary of one another.
 
By gawd Florida State and by gawd catfish, hush puppies and cheese grits! By gawd. Almost reminds you of ole miss and the grove what with the coeds and all. By gawd.

FUS fans have only gotten that way in the last few years. when old man bowden was in his prime and they were winning and in the nat. champ hunt every year, their fans were intolerable dick heads. they rivaled ugag fans in that department. today, being the medicore coach and team they are, they are a little easier to be around.

We are the closest ACC school to FSU. I don't blame them for wanting to be in our division permanently. I wish we could switch Miami and FSU and play FSU every year.
 
FSU "likes us" because we were their bitch for about 15 years. Screw FSU.

Then you need to root for another team. Why join the ranks of FSU, UGAy, Clemson, etc. ????

Instead, speak softly and carry a big stick....Teddy Roosevelt said that.

If you have that un-dying hate for UGAy, and FSU...then why do you want to be like them in a few years.

I'd rather be a fan of a bad@$$ team and just roll with it. When someone asks "Who's your team?" you simply say GT and move on.

Why bring yourself down to UGAy's and FSUx's level?

JJ....we can't call ourselves the closest thing until we seal the deal. Losing to UNC and UVa don't help our cause.

Do I truly think we are? Well, I think we are VERY VERY Close.

But we have to get the VT monkey off our back and not have hiccups against the above teams.

FSU, screw'em. We won last year but they've been down (not out for a while)

We need to continue pouncing on EVERYBODY instead of just wanting to be like this or that
