Spiller-fest?

This could be very good for Dwyer if Clemson does this right. He could outshine a Heisman candidate in primetime on national TV.

This sounds like Yaba Dabbo Doo catering to Spiller. Spiller ain't even close to a Heisman candidate. He would need to rush for over 1500 yards to even be considered. Dwyer will smoke him.

spiller is by far the best RB in the acc and might be the best in the nation.if he would have had the shine like reggie bush he would be better then him.

NICE.

I'm starting to hate Spiller... He's a talented kid, sure, but he's not even the best in the ACC. Again, screw HD.

BTW, this was a quote from one of the Wake DL at media day today. Got it from Coley Harvey's twitter feed. he had other interesting blurbs as well.

Wake DL John Russell: "With the type of season I think they'll have, I wouldnt be surprised to see Spiller and Dwyer going to NY" in Dec.
http://twitter.com/macontechtalk

Watson also said Paul Johnson's offense is "smartest, most frustrating" offense he's ever faced

FSU linebacker Dekoda Watson put his Spiller poster to good use; he interviewed it

Dwyer asked about going pro (no, hasnt thought about leaving early): "playing in NFL would be dream come true"

Marrietta native and UNC QB T.J. Yates says he's anxious to play GT this yr after losing 2yrs ago in Atl at BDS
Actually few interesting twitter feeds from media day.

Edit:
More accurate than a twitter posting of what the DT for Wake said -- it actually is more pro-Dwyer than the above posting.

“C.J. has gotten all the hype and talk, but I wouldn’t be surprised, depending upon what happens with Georgia Tech and how good of a year they are having, that Jonathan doesn’t get stuck in there with the Heisman talk as the season progresses,” Wake Forest defensive tackle John Russell said. The Deacons will face the Jackets on Nov. 7 at Bobby Dodd Stadium.

Spiller is a GREAT kid. I worry he's too easily led, by some pretty crazy Clemson faithful though.

At what Spiller can do, they are right that no one in college football is better - - but as an every down back, there are a lot of better tailbacks.

Spiller is loyal to his faith, his teammates, his coaches, his fans, and his school. There is nothing not to like about this kid. If he was ours we'd love him just like they do.

He's in for some tough knocks, because he's pretty idealistic. He'll get some tough lessons in the next couple of years and I hate it for a kid that seems so willing to serve everyone he's close to. He was hot this past year, so he should have gone pro right then and there. I hope his star is still shining bright at the end of this year, and I hope he stays healthy.
I'm glad he's getting some love.

Spiller is a GREAT kid. I haven't seen anything at all to suggest otherwise.

If you get frustrated with him, direct it at Clemson - not at him. (although a lot of you already know I'm quite the Clemson fan when they aren't playing the Jackets...) Still - he's doing what any of us would do. I say let him have his time - it doesn't affect us adversely in any way.

Maybe, but as long as we have more points I don't care if CJ has more yards.

holy crap. go to ebay and type in spiller poster. those things are going for 50+ bucks with a day to go. there's one that is a buy it now for 125. who in their right mind would waste their money on a spiller4heisman poster when he wont even finish top 5 and it will be worthless a year from now.

I like how the posters have Spiller as taller than 6 feet -- when he really is shorter. :)

Three guys who had more rushing yards than Spiller in 2008:

1. Roddy Jones
2. Josh Nesbitt
3. Jon Dwyer

One Clemson's fan take from their Scout board(it was immediately picked apart piece by piece...of course):

"I just don't see how dwyer is better or even the equivalent of CJ. Dywer is in a running back offense in which you run 75% of the time and pass 25% of the time. CJ is in a pro style offense in which we run 54% of the time (or less) and pass 46% of the time (or more). CJ is in a different ballpark when it comes to being a complete player and his talent is sorry to say it but elite while dwyer is built in the same mold of alot of running backs which is big and can run. I don't care about the stats because CJ is a guy who even with mediocre rushing stats and a horrible offensive line and gameplan is still one of the most talked about players because he has the skill set which few are given and dwyer isn't one of them.

So gt fans keep talkin smack but when it comes to gameday. I really can't wait because I feel a bolt of LIGHTNING might just strike your defense opening up some major holes in pass coverage for your fear of the "Big play" which in a NFL offense is what Spiller excels at. This should give our young wr's alot of opportunities to make plays which I feel they will be ready to capitalize on. If I am wrong I will be hear on Saturday night after the game telling you guys how wrong I am but it won't be because a young man named CJ Spiller. If I am right I will definitely make sure you boys remember the name CJ SPILLER because he could bring the wrath like what was brought in 2006 except it will be on your home field."

After taking a business trip to the Clemson area, I liked it a little and stopped my hatred for Clemson. But after reading that redneck's post, I now hate Clemson again. While I was down there, the hotel I stayed in was the official Clemson hotel next to their stadium. Orange and purple was all over that place. Even the concierges wore only orange and purple.

Didn't Purdue make a huge preseason push for Kyle Orton as a Heisman candidate a few years back? On the same level as this? That went well.

Spiller is a damn fine player, but Clemson fans should worry that they have a coach named Dabo and a quarterback named Willie Korn. But Clemson fans have always seemed to live a bizarro lollipop world when it comes to their team.
