Does Virginia Tech deserve the hype?

VT would have been in the MNC game two years ago, except for one little problem. LSU destroyed them, thus LSU backed into the MNC game with two losses. VT does deserve the hype this year, however this shows how far as a program we've come. Because we all know VT will get rolled by Tech. People need to start thinking we've elevated ourselves and not VT sucks.

Funny, that's my definition of a "great" team.

A "good" team can win any game, anywhere, on any day. A great team will stand toe to toe with any program every game.

The ACC has several good teams, but no great teams. It has as many good teams as any conference in the land. It is good teams that become great teams, though, so we have a lot of reason to hope.

it's not exactly like they ran away with the whole thing last year. seems like a fair question seeing how they backed into a few victories last year as well.

I'm about to send an email to my boss telling him I'm glad he needs me to stay in the office and not attend the VT career fair in September. I might act unprofessional while at his alma mater ;) Didn't have a problem with this last February at the VT career fair, but we weren't on the verge of football season.

So let me ask you guys a question to fire us up... how badly will we beat VT? Would you like to pound them into nothing or beat them in the last second?
 
As posted, VPI has an easy schedule this year but for two games in Atlanta.

I don't see them winning either game, but they'll still win the ACC again. We have way too demanding a schedule for a young team, new system, and as always real student athletes.

VPI can go 6-2 in the ACC with their eyes closed this year, 7-1 if they win two out of three of their 'tough' games (at Tech, UNC, Miami). I just don't see anybody else doing that this year.

And I must agree that the VPI system holds up when all us other imposters fail at the end. I think PJ is changing that image at Tech and that we'll take over their reign, but not quite yet.

the only thing I will add to this discussion is that The ACC was quite possibly the worst conference in the BCS last year, maybe except for the Big East which isn't saying much.

Over at halftime. 40(plus) to 10(minus). That would make me happy.
 
VT will always deserve the hype until we can beat them.

It is our fault that they get the hype they get.

It is up to us to ensure they don't get it anymore.

We are the problem. The winner of the GT/VPISU game always goes to the ACCCG. We have to keep them from going in order to fix the hype problem.
