UGAg this year

Look at the schedule again. People picking Arkansas for the fifth loss are correct in that Arky is on paper the 5th best team. Georgie will be big favorites over Arky.

Realistically to lose five they have to lose every single tough game and have a major slip up. It won't happen. Georgie will win at least 8 mark my words.

I agree. Isn't both their lines going to be improved? I don't see why everyone thinks they are so overrated.

Everyone looking over them is going to give this team HUGE motivation and lets face it CMR gets his teams ready to play teams on the road. He's like 30-4 in road games or something ridiculous. The games against OSU and Arky are both road games but that just may play into their hands.

Their road success could change but we haven't seen ANYTHING that will prove it will.

Did you not see any of their games last year ? Preseason #1 and just squeaked by S. Carolina, Auburn and Kentucky, and I mean squeaked. Laid a big egg on national TV, while blacked out, against Alabama, and got destroyed by Florida. Then, blew a 28-12, corrected, halftime lead and lost against us, my favorite by the way :D. And you can't see why they are overrated ? A leopard can not change his spots overnight !!

Then, blew a 31-6 halftime lead ... against us

Not quite 31-6, it was 28-12.

Last year UGA was WAAAAY overrated. This season I think they will finish in the rankings about where they are starting. More like properly rated.

Agree ! Too many unknowns, QB, running backs, and Free Willie !!

Georgie has got sick talent. They'll do fine this year. Cox will be a good QB for them. Green and that FR will be good WR's, and King, Samuels and Ealey will do fine at RB. Their issue will be on D, if any.

Heard the same dribble for the past 2 years. Believe it when I see it.

Until they prove otherwise...they are a regular season 9-10 win team. Mark Richt usually has his teams prepared and he's got a bevy of talent. Why would we think that they didn't learn from last years mistakes as well?

I'm betting they're more focused than last year. They don't have they hype machine psyching them up, while also possibly distracting them. The pre-season pub possibly also gave them an air of false self-confidence, which you could compare to our game against LSU. They didn't prepare as normal(i believe there's an article where CMR said they stopped hitting due to injuries) and this year you can bet they will.

I could coach UGA to 9 wins every year and I'd be trying to coach them to lose.

That schedule isn't as tough as they make it out to be. It just appears tough because UGA didn't load up on 1-AA teams like Alabama and Auburn always do.

I can somewhat agree with this statement. Arizona St is a fairly bottom half team from a conference that had the worst bottom half in the country last year. Oklahoma St as a threat depends on opinion of the Big 12. Personally I don't like their chances in it because its opening weekend and at Ok St.

I don't really see how you can hype up how difficult a schedule you have when you'll be favored in all but maybe 3 games (OStU, Florida, and hopefully us). They'll be favored over LSU i think (even if not by much) because its at home).

As for their lines, the O line is but I keep hearing how their defensive ends leave something to be desired (mostly hear a pass rush, not as much help to us but a factor nonetheless).

Also, does that road game thing include their bit with Florida?

I believe their FL game is considered a neutral site.

Convenient since that would allow them to represent a home record and an away record neither of which include their abysmal record against their most important conference rival.

OK State is overrated. Ugag will either:

(a) win that game, ride a high and win a few games it shouldn't; or
(b) lose that game, ride a low and lose a few games it shouldn't.

Ugag's got talent. I expect their defense to be much better and I expect them to beat OK State. Without question, ugag will be our toughest game this year, regardless of their record. I also expect us to kick their ass before the game when they try to rough up our field.

The best team Ok St beat last year was Missouri. They lost to TX, TT, OK, and Oregan (I think).

I suspect that UGa will beat them by a score of 35-24 or so.

As for that bit with Oregon, they only lost that game cause their wide receiver which was like Dwyer to their team got injured (I know this cause I had to tell off this Pac-10 fan why the 5-0 bowl thing doesn't make them as good as the SEC).

I think, from Georgia's perspective, it will be a shootout at best. I don't see Georgia's defense improving so much that a good offense with so much preparation time won't score on em. Maybe that's just me.

I believe Cox determines whether ugay wins or not. If he can execute under pressure, they can win. If he struggles, look for the nadlickers to have a long season.

@ Okla St - Cowboys have 4 turnovers, Dawgs win 19-17.

South Caroliney - UGA wins 13-6. Seen this game before.

@Arkansas - I wish that I believed Arkansas could beat UGA. Dawgs 28-20.

Ariz St - Dawgs roll 38-14.

LSU - LSU has their worst game of the year and Dawgs win 28-27.

@Tenn - Dawgs come into the game a confident 5-0 versus The Mighty And Heralded All Time Hardest Schedule of All Time. Players stay at practice an extra hour during the week to rehearse endzone celebrations. Mark Richt distracted by cover shoots for ESPN and Christianity Today magazines. Dawgs lose 42-14.

@Vandy - Halftime score: Vandy 14 UGA 6. Final score: Vandy 14 UGA 34.

Florida - UF 52 UGA 16. Poor officiating; game much, much, much closer than the score indicated. I mean it was pretty much a toss-up.

Tenn Tech - W

Auburn - UGA wins 17-12 in one big ugly-ass game.

Kentucky - UGA wins by three touchdowns.

UGA will be 9-2 and will be favored by oddsmakers to beat Tech.
