Anybody that's familiar with CPJ's history at GSU....Do you think this is the most pure talent that CPJ has ever worked with? I would think so....he did have adrian peterson some good QB's and receivers but i would think the crop of guys he's working with now are the best. Especially depth-wise.

I'm sure he'd never let the players know this and I'm sure he's had teams that were better at executing his offense...but as far as pure talent....wouldn't you think?

I just feel the fact that we go 5-6 deep at a-back with bad mo-fos is pretty obvious that it would be his most talented O.

I can't wait to see us running sideline to sideline wearing D's down!!!

From what I heard, from a standpoint of relativity to the teams they were play, he had better talent at GSU than here (as I said, when comparing to the teams they faced).

However, he probably has never had so many players that were as big or fast or strong as what he has now.

Is this a serious question? So there is the slightest doubt in your mind that a Navy or GSU team may have had more talent than our team?

Well if we're going on what we THOUGHT he meant... this is more in line with my thoughts based on the thread title... PURE TALENT:

How many days left till New Years?

its a relative question. mainly comparing GT vs. GSU offensive skill positions.

obviously GSU and NAVY didnt have TJ barnes, brad jeffersons, nick claytors, etc.

but i.m sure that some years he had pretty well stocked teams at a-back, b-back, qb and the receiver positions(dont forget that we.ve only got 1 proven at this point).

just trying to reach out to those people that followed GSU to find out if there were teams that were RELATIVELY close to being this skilled.

i don't think there are but i.d bet that CPJ might have a team for ya!

I'm guessing he's had some very smart players (Navy) and some good athletes who weren't so smart (GSU). With his offense, there may be some benefits to having smart players. At this level, he probably has as good a mix of brains, size, and speed as you will find. Wes Durham had a good line at the Cobb Football Preview. He said something to the effect that GT players who succeed have performed at this country's highest level of competition athletically and academically.

relative to our competition, the talent at GSU was far greater than where we are now. I think the 1999 team would give GT all they could handle if they were to open the season this year against GT but that is too hypothetical to really think about.

buzztheirazz, your question borders on the ridiculous. From a pure talent standpoint at strictly the offensive skill positions... we would absolutely crush GSU in any year. Hell, I would argue that our 1994 squad overall offensive talent was better than GSU's in 1999. Do you understand the talent deficiency from Division 1 to Division 1AA? Obviously not well.

Someone also forgot to tell Gardner-Webb...

Hope the OP doesn't mind, but I'm gonna steal this question and ask it on Coach J's Call-In Show.

Do you guys really think that any GSU team could have gone 9-4 with our schedule last year? I sure don't!

Its a good question if you phrase it in level with the competition at both divisions. If its comparing GT to GSU, that's just plain dumb.

No... GSU did not have the talent of a D1 school across the board. But, I bet ya that Tracy Hamm would start for us. Adrian Peterson could too. What GSU did have was about 3 touchdowns better than any team they faced that year. They had enormous talent compared to the level of competition, for many years.
