It's about the Abbate family. Luke Abbate was killed in a car accident after lacrosse practice my senior year at Harrison High School. I didn't know him but I remember how it affected everybody. Jon Abbate, Luke's older brother, played at Wake Forest. I don't know if everyone remembers but when we played Wake Forest for the ACC Championship that was Jon's last game i believe. A tradition started at Harrison where we would hold up his number 5 at the start of the 4th quarter and call it the 5th quarter in his honor. Well that tradition soon made it to wake forest. The preview shows some pretty cool footage of the game and it's a really cool story. Everything you see is pretty much true to the story. I just thought it was cool and that people should check it out!

Reliving GT losing the ACC championship on the big screen is going to be one of the better parts of my year.

Thx.

yeah its not about tech...

Pay no attention to that idiot. I for one am glad to know that perhaps God had some reason for Patrick Nix's inability to engineer one touchdown in that game. Well, two I guess, since we probably wouldn't have PJ if CG had won the ACC.

Coach Grobe was selected the ACC’s Coach-Of-The-Year, and Jon performed brilliantly in the ACC Championship Game with fifteen solo tackles against powerhouse Georgia Tech.
:woot::laugher:

The 2006 ACCCG game was easily the most pissed away opportunity in the history of GT football.

I still can't believe I drove 6 hours down from Atlanta to stand in the rain and watch 5 field goals.

As a fellow Patrick Nix hater, that was good for a belly laugh.

thx.

That's a sad story and I feel for that Abate kid and everything.

But...

Why God, is there another movie with my ****ing school on the ass end of an inspirational story? I can't watch this movie. Not because it's sad, but because during the ACC championship game, I won't be thinking about how Wake showed courage and heart. I'll be thinking that God damned Patrick Nix wasted the greatest receiver in college football history. How we managed to score six lousy ****ing points. Sounds like a great way to spend an evening at the movies. And yes, I cannot see beyond that. My myopic view on life is contained solely to the things I care about.

I agree with allen. The is just going to remind me of standing in the rain watching CJ go to waste and not scoring a damn TD!! Then ill be in a bad mood the rest of the day thinking abt it.

I actually saw the movie in a private screening last week. It was very good. It wasn't too painful seeing GT lose in it. In the long run I knew it brought us Paul Johnson. But anyway the movie was great and I recommend seeing it when it comes out.
