Interesting read...

If you would care to make your best case for our D being better this year, I would appreciate it because it might help me feel a lot better and maybe even sleep better.

The D was overwhelmingly young. Especially if you can look past 1st stringers and consider the 2 deep depth chart. Like the O, it was a new scheme these guys had to learn something very new. I know loosing three guys on the line to the NFL is a big loss, but I think we have one of the best talent evaluators and assistant coaches in Giff Smith. Not to mention the O will force teams to play catch up, and force opponents O's to be more predictable.

Realistically, the defensive line will not be as good. The secondary should be better this year to the extent that I think it will even out. Meanwhile, the offense should be much better, barring serious injury issues. We should be able to control time of possession and score more points than last year. It is hard to imagine winning less than 9 games this year, but the ball bounces funny sometimes and turnovers can easily change a W to a L. We will be a better team. Let's hope it shows in the record.

We were considerably faster as a unit this past Spring than we were at any time last Fall.
