Kodi Burns

i live out here in birmingham so i hear all the auburn/bama news (weather i want to or not). yes, they have announced todd as the #1, but they have a true freshman who is supposed to challenge for pt

Sounds like a trasnfer to me. Didn't he get recruited to run the spread option. Just a thought!

Kodi was a frosh in 07' and the spread offense was not put in until 08 (or perhaps late in 07). I guess he could transfer but I have been told that Kodi is going to play WR; he has already come out and said all the classy things about supporting Todd and being a team player etc.

EDIT: Btw, Auburn is going to continue running a spread-type offense.

From what I remember last year, if Todd starts, Auburn may easily be the worst team in the west, yes worse than Mississippi st. (GATOR OFFENSE THERE NOW)

Here's what Auburn supporters are saying: Jeff Todd has a Brett Favre-like arm when he is healthy, but injuries and so forth have kept him down and his arm looked like a wet noodle all last year. Believe it or not, Auburn faithful (or at least the irrationally optimistic members thereof) is VERY excited about Jeff Todd and they think his NFL-caliber arm is going to shock the SEC.

And then there are the Auburn fans who are thinking five wins would be overachieving.

Hmm... Would this be Dontae Aycock, per chance?

no, we recruited dontae with the possibility of being a qb, but auburn didn't, he is listed as a rb on their roster (although he may get some playing time behind tate this year.)

the fr who has stood out at qb is tyrik rollinson (sp?)

*disclaimer: the only way i know this much is because the only radio station that talks college football here is 30% auburn talk, 45% bama talk, and 25% about the rest of the sec.*

i've lived here for 18 months and heard gt mentioned once. literally.

I know exactly what you mean. I'm from Alabama and spent this past summer there after graduating. I just stopped listening to sports talk radio altogether.

The wife is from AL so we spend some time over there.
It's amazing how insular it is. Not only do they not talk about anyone besides Bama, Auburn and their SEC rivals, they don't even think anyone else is worth talking about.

Generally GT is wholly ignored but I did have one great day as a GT fan. We went to the 2007 Bama opener, and before the game watched GT thump Notre Dame at the Houndstooth. Sunday morning I played Highland Park as a single in my GT shirt and hat, and almost everyone I met had great things to say about GT. One group was like, "oh crap, we better let this Tech guy play through or we might get beat up like ND", and another guy even sang RWFGT.

Living there, you know how absolutely remarkable this was. It just goes to show the national attention that ND gets. They're the Yankees of CFB and everyone loves to hate them.

GT's about to get a little bit more attention in the Ham and everywhere else, though, because we're gonna be a player in the national CFB picture!
