Jaybo with broken collarbone

I'm telling you that Jaybo probably peaked last year. Its almost unrealistic to think that he'd keep the 2 spot all season. Washington is already ahead of him athletically and not far behind in terms of the technical aspect. It sucks for Jaybo but I don't think its going to set us back as far (if any) as many on here think

Because we play opponents with coaches from the FSU school of Dirty Football quite a bit.

It's not like they went Tonya Harding on his ankle last year.

I'd have to disagree here. Starting his first collegiate game a few months after his high school graduation can't be easy; especially in CPJ's offense where he has to learn everything from scratch. There were a lot of times last season where Jaybo made the wrong decisions and that in itself shows that he's got upside. Don't listen to me though, see CPJ's comment about Jaybo's injury. CPJ is a straight shooter, he's not going to say he's been playing well if he hasn't and he wouldn't be 2nd string if CPJ thought he didn't think he was second best QB.

FSU does that on the bottom of every pile on every play to key skill players, if they think an injury can give them the win.

Got proof? I don't think any legitimate college team coaches their players to break people's ankles in a pile. It seems like that is what you are implying. That certainly didn't happen to Josh last year.

I don't think PJ would blow smoke about Jaybo's play either, but I think Jaybo was #2 based on his current play, not anything to do with his potential.

My bad, you're right, nothing to do with potential. Fixed.

Ummm, ask Joe Hamilton about his first three games against F$U

Bobby Bowden's pregame press conference in 1998 where he told the media his game plan was to knock Joe Hamilton out of the game, followed by 3 consecutive late hits on our first drive, on which we scored, and on which Joe was injured, and then we went on to lose badly?

That's the first example that comes to mind anyway.

Then there was the whole Florida thing where they were twisting that guy's knee under the pile and they knocked him out for the season, then had a lot of fun writing "not guilty" on their knuckles for the TV cameras.

Yeah, dude, it's FSU.

Fair enough. I don't want to bother looking those things up so I believe you. But seriously, if you go back and watch Josh's ankle twist from last year, you think that was planned by the "clever" folks at FSU?

Josh hurt his ankle last year against FSU when Andrew Gardner rolled over on it.

No, but just because got injured on a clean play doesn't mean there weren't a bunch of unclean ones he managed to not get injured through. And I guarantee you several of our opponents are going to go with the "break Nesbitt" game plan.

"Break Nesbitt" mentally, sure. "Break Nesbitt" as in his {insert body part here}, can't see/believe that.

I think this happens more than you would think, not that it would ever be publicized of course.

Mickey Andrews (FSU's Def Cord) is notorious for "maybe not coaching" but instead smiling and congratulating no holds barred football. I remember when Darnell Dockett got a flag for Stomping...Literally Stomping intentionally Rex Grossman's hand (atleast I think it was Dockett) and Mickey just smiled, winked, and patting him on the @$$ for it

So Alpha..trust me, dirty play isn't frowned on down in Tallahassee.

I'm arguing against the idea that there's some college football conspiracy that players intentionally hurt other players but it goes unnoticed and unpunished at the same time. If a defender is gunning for a sack, I have no doubt he's going to go full speed and lay the smack down on the QB as hard as he possibly can. What I don't believe is that the same defender will aim at the QB's ankles or throwing arm with the hope that it breaks and he's carted off the field.

Then you're extremely naive. They may not want to cripple them, but they by all means want to hurt them enough to make them quit or be removed from the game mentally and physically. Granted those guys may be few and far between but they are out there without question

Whether Jaybo peaked or not is irrelevant. He was by far the best back up QB, and in this offense where the QB is prone to get hit more often loosing the 2nd string QB is a big deal. Dropping from Nesbitt to Washington is a massive drop off in skill and experience. Now that Jaybo's out, time to put the green jersey on Nesbitt aka no more hitting him.
