Villains of College Football - Bear Bryant

"Inflicted more damage on a program in three years' time than anyone in football history."

I think they were being facetious when they said that about Ty Willingham near the bottom, but I have a nominee if they are interested in bestowing that honor for real.

If the Jackets beat Miami this year, they'll become the first program to have beaten the Canes five straight years.

Wow. That's pretty cool. Hope we win.

Hey - it doesn't say that anymore. Guess someone pointed something out...

A bunch of teams have beaten Miami 5 in row or more. Not sure what Heather was thinking.

Notre Dame beat them 11 straight, Florida 10 straight, Alabama 7 straight, etc. Florida State & VPI are the most recent to beat them 5 straight, both in the 90's.

However, I think it will be the first time they've lost 5 straight ACC games to anyone.

Where are the ACC officials on that list?
GEORGIA TECH
Current villain: The officials in last year's Virginia Tech game. Talk to any of the Jackets and it still strikes a nerve to talk about the costly helmet-to-helmet call with the game tied at 17 in the fourth quarter. To top it off, one play later Michael Johnson was charged with a facemask. And it was. But the first call was questionable, and it sustained a Virginia Tech drive that, in retrospect, went a long way in determining the tiebreaker for the ACC Coastal Division last year.
.

Mark Richt and the Brotherhood of Interbreeding up in Athens are and will always be my villians.

Mark Richt won't still be your villain when they run his ass out of town 2-3 years from now. A person can only lose to UF and GT so many times before bag-packing time.

Just an insanity check, but how many years ago did Miami join the ACC?

As in was it possible for them to lose 5 ACC games yet, I really don't remember...

They beat us their first year in the league, and lost the rest. So it's possible they could have had a 5 year losing streak last year if the streak started the year they entered, but no such streak exists.

Thanks for the info.
