i think its funny that you say this. for a Tech person, it is a joke of a "university"

they have some decent programs, but overall, the level of education, like at most "colleges" is a joke, humor noire maybe, but a joke nonetheless

For most of their students, it's not a joke; ugag puts out good teachers for the state and etc. It's a joke for the athletes, that's the problem.
 
Btw, it is pretty sad that their management is losing to our school of management that badly, we weren't supposed to be the leading management school (public) in state. Once again preseason number one.. :P

The joke at UGA is majors like "Musical Therapy" and "Housing Studies". Oh and I forgot "Engineering", they would have been better off not adding those majors (Agricultural Engineering??? really???).

Taking off the gold colored glasses, its a pretty well known fact that UGA has great life sciences (Biology, Ecology, Pre-Med, Animal Science, Wildlife, etc.).

In fact US News and World Report ranks UGA 10 slots ahead of Georgia Tech in Biology.

This is admittedly a weakness for GT but that doesn't change facts.

And what if you want to be a Music major? Or an Elementary School Teacher?

Does that change the fact that UGA is a redneck cow college spawned for satan's bidding? No. But the quality of education has little to do with that fact however inferior it is to Tech.

I agree with your post in general, but the difference between biology is not that big, UGA got 3.3 with 10 other schools, so got ranked 58th with all of them, and Tech got the next best score 3.2 but 68th spot because of the ten schools in the 58th spot. So the two departments are close.

And don't mix biomed with biology, UGA has no biomedical engineering department (if they do have some specialization it's crap compared to Tech's). GT is ranked 2nd grad and 3rd undergrad in biomed.

Yea the separation is very small but it was just an example. It was my mistake to assume biology included Biomed.
