I have already told you... nothing. Unless there is some contractual agreement in the fine print they assent to by joining the pay site. It's all ethical and practical. It's ethical in that there is an understood rule that you don't do this. You can debate forever why there is an understood rule, but that's the way it is. I'm just saying. It's why I asked the question in the OP.

If coaches or AAs don't want info leaking out, they shouldn't release it to anybody. And it's not a coach's or AA's job to help the owners of these pay-per-view sites make their money.

Unless they can do so with confidence that it won't leak out but to a few closest to the program. I don't think it's them trying to build a site. It's them trying to meet the desires of the more hard-core fans, of which GA Tech has very few.

Why would any AA or HC risk disseminating sensitive information just to please these so-called "hard core" fans? I must be even more "hard core" than they are because my feeling is that if the GTAA or the coaching staff don't want information getting out, I don't want it to get out, not even to myself. So, I have to conclude that if some rumor or story is being posted on one of these pay sites, it must not be THAT big of a secret anyway, and I see no reason at all, legal or ethical or otherwise, that someone shouldn't freely share what they read on a pay site.

I just don't think Paul Johnson would ever want to do this, that is, give exclusive/inside information to dues paying hard-core fans. This is the kind of prissy bulll**** I don't think he would appreciate.

Look. Why don't you guys join up for a month. Waste your $9.99 and see why they do what they do? Geeze, you're like little children.

Trust me, from one who was a Hive "insider" for years. There is very little sensitive info given. It's almost all simply stuff you're going to find out in a couple of days anyway. The field rats who hang out down there also toss around their perspective on things, too, and sometimes have some closer understanding about what coaches are thinking at times. sometimes they're right, sometimes not. Now if you want that stuff, fine, go pay for it. I have found that I get everything I need in time through normal channels.

Otherwise, here's my thoughts on the topic, FWIW:
1. There has to be a reason for people to pay for access, right? The boards want to provide this so they can make money.
2. The guys who 'work' on those boards have their reasons for doing what they're doing. Maybe they want to get into sports information, for example, and are using this to make contacts. Maybe they just want an excuse to get closer to the action, I don't know. Who knows? Ask them.
3. The fans want info, and some are willing to pay... YOU'RE on this board, right?
4. The GTAA likes to disseminate info to keep fans interested in the program for what should be obvious reasons.

There's four advantages right there depending upon who you are and what your perspective is.

Anyway, the writers build these relationships with coaches and others in the AA, and they get some tidbits to feed the fan boards. The sources tell them what can not be disseminated yet, what can be let out to a few "insiders," and what can be put out at large. The owners of the boards, the guys who work the boards, the 'insiders' on the boards, and the GTAA all have a vested interest in this stuff.

The only one who doesn't have a vested interest in this is YOU, and that's why you're not getting it. If you want it that badly, then go sign up. As for the coaches, they're ALL well aware of it, and they use it to their advantage as much as they can.

What have I sad that is childish? All I ever said was that when a consumer BUYS information, they have the right to use or communicate that information. I then questioned the myth that the GTAA has information that is classified as "for the hard core fans only". I am not alleging that pay sites should not exist; I'm not criticizing them for trying to make money in an information market. I am not saying that I am entitled to whatever info they have. You seem to be responding to me as if I believe those things even though I have not said and do not believe any of them. You seem to be making a lot of assumptions about me and what I think rather than reading the actual words I have written. For the last time, all I'm saying is that if someone out there wants to post information that they learned from a subscription site, they shouldn't let any ideas about "ethics" or hurting the GTAA stop them, because those ideas are absolute, absurd crap.

I come to this board because waiting for the season to start is driving me absolutely ****ing mad, and this helps pass the time and helps me to, in a very small way, interact in a sense with Tech football while I'm waiting for it to get here. I will read every dumbass post on ST because it's free and can at times even be amusing, but I wouldn't spend $1 to read every word on every pay site about our team because none of that **** will tell me whether we're going to beat Clemson.

Good day to you, sir, and I hope you took none of this personally. As for me being like a child, I guess you're right. Caring about football as much as we all do is sort of childish when you think about it.

+1. I am a member of the pay boards. I choose not to release the info out to the world -- because I am concerned that I will start getting less information posted on the pay site. It is as simple as that to me. There is no moral or legal binding from me releasing all of the info I know -- but if I did that, they might start posting less stuff on the pay boards. That is my reasoning.

I have a question for these insiders. Is this secret info good news or bad news?

If the secret info is that Coop is taking some snaps at QB, as someone else posted on this thread, then I think it is bad news.
 
You know, the season's just a couple of weeks away. I can wait until then to find out.
 
It's pretty obvious with all the hints that Cooper is moving back to FS. But who will be the Wolf?
