You guys that have seen CPJ teams at other schools over the years, who would say was the best QB for the triple option?
Is Nesbitt the best? Was there a GA Southern or Navy QB that was better?

It seems to me that Nesbitt's size and running skills are just about perfect for this offense because you get hit a lot. Anyone smaller (height/weight) is liable to be more fragile (e.g., Jaybo--he got hit pretty bad a few times last year).

Now people say Luallen has the size and skills to be great, too.

Seems Kaipo was pretty good, and some Ham guy. :)

PJ said in an interview, when asked that very question, that the best QB would be Tim Tebow.

/shrug.

Joe Hamilton would have been a great TO QB, despite his limited stature. I think Charlie Ward might have been excellent as well

Eric Crouch (Nebraska) was a good option QB. You don't need a ton of speed, just agility and excellent decision making.

Frazier... better than Crouch, despite the Heisman in which Grossman got the shaft. I think part of Tebow winning as a sophomore was because of that.

Ham had everything that Kaipo and others since him had in running the TO, but he was the only QB I've watched in this offense that I was confident would convert 3rd and long passing the ball. He had a knack for moving around in the highly unstable pocket that this offense provides long enough to get to his third read if necessary. I'm not sure if any other QBs for PJ have ever had his impressive passing numbers to go along with the TO management.

Nesbitt certainly isn't the best (at least not yet, though what he has done in one injury plagued year has been impressive). If the Albany article about the game slowing down for him has some truth to it, together with fridgemover's hints of the OL pleasantly surprising, then he may join the likes of Ham in some elite company by the end of the season.

Reggie would have been better if he had had a coach at any time in his college career that was capable of helping him improve.

like Jesus, that's who he needed

reggie tried really hard but was just not D1 QB material. in the absence of any magical person on the depth chart, he was our best option at that time though.

at least Chan got some good QBs into the system, including Nesbitt

If Chan was still here, nobody would be calling Nesbitt a good quarterback.
