you'd think there would be with the afrotc program and everything.
I love those things but I suspect the economy is restricting them.
If they are part of a scheduled training mission I see no problem, but if not I don't think the guvment ought to be spending that money.
JMO.
That's how all fly-overs work. They're not some joyride for the pilots, nor are they a massively expensive bonus provided to fans, they're part of a training mission. They'll grant fly-overs and then shift their training schedules into the fly-over dates so that they fly out, conduct part of a training mission, do the fly-over, finish the training mission, go home.
Not particularly comforting to know that they are "training" as they zoom towards stadiums full of thousands of people.
Didn't the Space Shuttle fly over last year? It didn't exactly buzz the stadium; but still.
A guided missile flyover would be really cool!
:laugher:I think the govt could use a pic of the backup Air Force One over beautiful Grant Field at Bobby Dodd Stadium.
My Dad still talks about sitting in the upper deck during a C5a flyover shortly after it was introduced. Must have been incredible to see that beast fly low over the Flats
I think they have two types of flights, 'training' and 'missions'. On 'missions', routinely someone not in the aircraft dies...on purpose even.
