Spring Game - Saturday April 12th 1pm

I know this won’t go over week, but GT needs to do like the growing trend started by Nebraska and cancel the game. It hasn’t helped GT in the Portal era, and has only allowed poaching by Ole Miss, etc during the Spring Portal after having a great Spring.

Texas, USC, etc have now canceled Spring games. No reason to give other programs free recruiting info.

So during the second weekend of spring break for all of Metro Atlanta. Not great timing for those of us with kids.

I don't know if we need to cancel the Spring game or not but definitely the portal has changed Spring football. Used to be coaches would say so and so "looks good and could be an important player for us this Fall." Not sure a coach wants to even tell a player that right now much less the public. What do you say to players today? "loyalty is important?"

We need all revenue streams we can get.
 
Useless game. Half arse football and worst yet during spring breaks and masters. Totally agree with eliminating it. Can do a fan day indoor so folks are comfortable at the basketball gym (may have more fans that day than in 2-3 games combined); and move on.

So, getting an extra practice to fine tune your game is useless? Interesting.

You flip the script. In the post game presser, the only thing you say about the players is " yeah so and so made 3 catches, but otherwise he looked like ass." " RB racked up 200 yds but my 4 yr old woulda had tree-fiddy on a line that looks like ass" "2 interceptions and 3 sacks sure, but the sacks smell like my sack does being so close to my ass."

Yep make everyone think we're terrible, it gives us free press AND keeps the competition from trying to poach.
 
Maybe CBK can do what PJ did one day for spring game - get "coaches" for each team.
PJ had two sportswriters covering the team his first year at Southern serve as coaches. Had each one of them involved in the draft process in splitting up the team. Yeah, he didn't get along with the press, though.
Maybe get Chad Bishop vs. KQ for the White-Gold game.
 
Last year the white kid from Athens had like 100 catches in the SG, it was fun to watch

I see an opportunity here. Instead of canceling, let's stage a game and make some of our worst players look really good. 5 TDs for the 4th string QB. Then another team poaches him, he gets big NIL money, opens a roster spot for us, and the other team wastes a scholarship and a lot of money.

followed by a complete meltdown as said 4th string QB goes on to lead TCU to the playoff while throwing 40 TDs vs 5 INT
 
First spring game I’m gonna miss in awhile. I’m gonna have to leave running into Dean and JJ to someone else this year.
